So your probably thinking, why not just use my own shampoo or shampoo brought from a pet store ?, hereβs why π
Shampoo made for humans is that, the PH level of our skin is different from our dogs, ours ranges from 5.5-5.6, while a dogs PH level is between 6.2-7.4. Human shampoo will be too acidic for your dog and can cause skin irritations , this homemade shampoo has been devised with the correct maths for the correct PH level for your dog, which is around 7
Pet shop/store brought dog shampoo, can possibly contain the following ingredients, which can be very harmful to your dog, hereβs why
Artificial colours, have been associated with many forms off cancer
Cocomide, DEA or MEA, this substance is chemically altered to the point off being a moderate cancer causing ingredient, hormone and thyroid disrupter and an organ toxin
Cocamidopropyl betaine, a environmental toxin that effects the immune system
Formaldehyde, attacks the central nervous system
Fragrances, Artificial fragrances can lead to compromised immune function, allergic reactions and neurotoxicity
Isopropyl alcohol, this chemical turns into acetone, when it enters the body, it is a known depressant, nerve toxin, lung and heart irritant and liver toxin
Methylchloroisothiazolinone, this chemical has been associated with organ poisoning and is a known carcinogen, some countries have already banned it !
Methylparaben and parabens, this can also serve as a endocrine disrupter and may adversely affect the central nervous system

Polyethylene glycol, is a known cancer causing chemical used as a solvent, side effects can be , stomach disorders, iron deficiency, loss off memory and immune dysfunction
Polysorbates, can mess with the PH level off the dogβs skin and fur
Propylene glycol, is a strong skin irritant as well as a liver and kidney toxin
Sodium sulphate, the sulphates can strip the hair off its natural oils and cause skin irritations, with dogs, these irritations are not always noticed until they are infected because off there furry bodies. Both sodium and ammonium laureth sulphates are known cancer -causing agents
Iβm not saying store brought dog shampoo will contain all these harmful chemicals/ingredients, but I think itβs safe to say it will certainly contain some off them, so why not go natural, and buy a complete home made shampoo for your furry friend, at a reasonable price, plus you know the product you will be using is completely safe and natural ππΆ
