We welcomed the awesome Tim to our little rescue family this weekend 💙

Tim's hooman passed away and his family have done everything to ensure that the needs of Tim were met, with his future welfare and happiness at the heart of all their discussions 🐾

Tim is approximately 19 years of age and is a very loving, sprightly little man. He initially took himself off for 2hours of me time, then came out and announced to his Fosterers what their roles consisted of, including lots of food and even more cuddles and fuss 😹

Please now RIP Peter, knowing your boy will want for nothing and be doted on 😻

These brothers were born outside and have slowly been learning to love and trust in hoomans. Just 15 weeks of age they are now as ready as they ever will be to find their furever home 🐈‍⬛ 🖤

In sad news, two of their siblings were cruely taken from the world before being swooped up with their mum Lucky, who told her two remaining boys that their future involved love, hugs, cuddles and playtime. So although the world can be cruel she instilled hope and courage in them 💕

So now it's been bestowed on us to find this awesome pair the home their mum told them they would find ✅

Shy at first, they just need time to build trust. But boy when they learn to trust, they are the most loving, playful and beautiful kittens you will ever meet 🐾

Makita is 11 weeks old today!!!

It's been a while since our last update and let's just say the last 3 weeks have been amazing, all be it slightly odd without my girl by my side!!!! 🙀😺

It was widely rumoured that Makita would never leave my home, because the bond we shared existed from her Day 0. We had been through a lot in those first 56 days and although some days were darker than others, I am super proud of how my little girl went from strength to strength. She quickly learnt to play with my existing resident felines and even had some guest fosters join her along the way. Her connection with foster dog Teddy was the most mind blowing. 🐶

Foster kitty Milwaukee was like a big sister to Makita and helped me show her the ropes and set her up for what adventures lay ahead. Then lickle Otto came along and the two of them hit it off immediately. 3 weeks her junior, no relation what so ever but they formed a bond that would be difficult to break if not impossible. 💯

After much agonising, I knew it was time to set my girl free and she was relocated just after her 8th week birthday to one of our awesome fosterers Becki. And if she was in heaven with me, then it just got multiplied as she now not only had little Otto to play with, she also had a bigger brother, Archie that she could wrap around her paws and boss around. 😹

New foster mum Becki fell for her charms immediately and how could you not??? She is afterall, stunning. 😻

So the days passed by and the new trio formed their own little family with Becki invited into their pride. Archie was learning how to be kitten again, which was just even better for how it all turned out 💯

Needless to say, the bets of me foster failing all now shifted to whether Becki would or not. And let's just say, Sept 15th is going to be proudly known as Gotcha day for both Otto and Makita!!! It's delayed only for Otto to be 10 weeks of age, but in essence they are already family and now call this wonderful place home 🏠

So thank you to everyone who followed Makitas journey. She'll always be part of our rescue family, she'll always have a place in my heart, but I'm now able to say... job done, kitty saved and her future is secured 💕💕💕

Meet our amazing Thundercat Crew

Last month on Pride day our wonderful Smokey (aka Mumm-ra) gave birth and had some beautiful kittens (Tygra, Snarf, Lion-O, Panthro & Cheetara) 🐱

One month on and we are super proud to show just how well this little family are doing 😻😻😻.

Obviously not yet available as they are only 32 days old but we felt a little bit of cuteness and fluff was needed on this rather overcast day 💟

We were extremely fortunate to meet the wonderful Lauren Cox and her amazing team at KennelPak today 🙏🙏

They have kindly been offering the rescues in the local area some Cat Litter to help us with all the kitties in our care. We often talk about needing food but clearly what goes in, must come out and cat litter is a resource we so often desperately need 🐾🐾

They have kindly donated a pallet of their WeCat Litter.
This is an Italian, fragranced cat litter that is bio-degradable, compostable and can be flushed too!

WeCat is popular due to its high efficiency clumping, extra absorbency, and its anti-odour, long lasting, soft, antibacterial granules.

So it's a win win for everyone and especially our cats who are our life 😻😻

So it's a HUGE THANK YOU from us to Lauren & her team 💝💝

Plus.....we also got to meet their Harris's Hawk which was a treat of it's own 🐦

🖤 Unfortunately we write this post with an air of great sadness, as today we said goodbye to the beautiful Tomas, who was eased over the rainbow bridge following a spate of ongoing health concerns.

He arrived on 9th April, having been trapped as a stray that had been living the streets for far too long.

Unfortunately it would appear his time out on the streets, going from bin to bin for food and just trying his best to survive has had a grave impact on his life going forward.

Diagnosed with IBD, the health concerns just kept coming. No matter what he ate he still had chronic diarrhea and was incontinent with it too. His ear infection kept re occurring and he also developed weepy eyes and began to struggle with extra pains when moving around. His weight has also plummeted drastically.

The scales of quality of life reached their tipping point today and whilst he lay on the vets table it was evident he was ready to go.

Zoe his foster mum and Gail were both in attendance and it breaks our heart to say goodbye to one of our own, but we couldn't be more proud of Zoe, for the unconditional love she has shown this boy over the last few months. Her tireless perseverance with medication and a specialist diet and the number of trips to the vet in the quest to get him right. Not to mention the clean ups needed after his several times a day accidents. A true hero.

He truly fell on his paws and had dignity in his final days, surrounded by love and people that knew his life mattered.

RIP Tomas. You'll always be in our hearts 🖤

They have been inseparable since being born 17months ago, following the loss of their mum 😿

Both get on with other cats, dogs and children just currently have been living an indoor life in a very busy household and tensions are building and so we are looking for a home that can make them the centre of everyone's affections 💗💗

They are a bonded duo and will only be available as a pair. Suitable for an indoor setting subject to plenty of space and may well adapt to an outdoor life but space around then will be needed as they will not have had that much road awareness

At around 12months of age this beautiful boy is looking for a palace to call his own. He has lived an indoor life since being rescued 🙏

He has also lived with other animals but it is believed he will benefit from being the only cat in the household or at least a much quieter home setting 😺

He can be a little shy at first, which given his good looks we'll forgive, but is also an extremely friendly lad when he warms to you 😻

Ready for Adoption: Meet our Tremendous Ted

On the cusp of his 1st birthday (25/8), Ted is an absolute stunning little boy 🎉

He does however have the tendency to play quite rough, so although he is a very loving cat, his home environment is no longer suitable and he would like a home with no other cats or children ☯️

Ted is neutered, chipped and vaccinated and has been very much loved by his owner. This has not been an easy decision for them to reach 😿

We all want what's best for Ted and his family though, and we hope that a new home brings a new lease of life for all involved 🤞

Oh My goodness.

When we welcomed Cream as an emergency intake she was a scared shell of a cat.

Collected and taken for a Spey, the procedure was denied due to her poor skin condition and risk of infection. Completely the right call for the vets to have taken. Fast forward two weeks & after a little time out and a steroid injection, she was then able to go for her Spey & chip. Her uterus was oddly the biggest seen in such a small girl (6 years old and just 2.4kg). That aside the procedure went well and we found an incredible rescue space with Teresa.

A loving, patient and wonderful fosterer who looks after cats for multiple rescues. She is one of life's heroes who focuses her time on the one in greatest need. No mean feat given all is rescues have several kitties that would benefit from the heroics that she can offer. A hooman we admire and love to bits.

And since arriving with her, Cream has gone from a hiding away shell of a cat to a wonderful, loving and playful little girl. All she needed was some time to decompress and someone willing to let her know she was loved. Cream is one of those kitties that stole my heart the second I saw her.

I am so incredibly grateful that we have access to the perfect people with the right skills, but most importantly the neverending barrel of love that our cats deserve.

Cream will in time be posted for adoption. For now, her time is spent with our wonderful family giving her everything and anything she needs.

Tonight is a night for just feeling all gushy and proud 😻😻😻😻

It's supposedly Black Cat Appreciation Day!!

The thing is we appreciate black cats EVERYDAY. We have had so many beautiful black cats pass through our doors and continue to have several black cats in residence. So yes, we are happy to appreciate them that little bit more today, than we usually do but continue to love them 365/366 days of the year 🖤🐈‍⬛🖤🐈‍⬛🖤🐈‍⬛🖤🐈‍⬛

We are happy to be supporting BARK: Babworth Animal Rescue Kennels down at the Lowdham monthly tabletop sale.

We don't actually have a stall as such but are providing support for the incredible organisers whilst also uniting with the other incredible rescues that work around us.

I think we will be manning their tombola stall, where all profits go straight to BARK.

We may cheekily have some Catnip Mice available for anyone that would like to purchase some from us and naturally for anyone nearby, any food donations would be incredibly appreciated. 🙏

So be it for BARK, to see us or just to have a walk around the lovely stalls, please feel free to come down and join us.

A warm welcome to Kitty & Nora 🐈‍⬛ 🖤

Around 10-11 months of age and sadly both heavily pregnant. Two amazing hoomans alerted us to them and have been taking great care of both, whilst we found the ideal foster placement.

Nora, arrived just the other day but we knew she was much closer to being ready to give birth so emergency care and space was provided. And quite right too as no more than 36 hours later she had successfully given birth to 5 beautiful kitties in a safe and homely environment full of love. 💞

Kitty now gets the exact same chance of a safe and protected birthing experience and will be absolutely doted on. That is something I have no doubt about. Collecting her today was amazing knowing she will now be loved as she has always deserved 🐾

In rescue you can't ever really plan for what's around the corner, you can only do your best with what's presented to you at the time. We are currently working hard to launch our oldies scheme and end up with kitties the polar opposite in age range. We are here for all cats no matter what and we flex and adapt as needed. All our little fur family get home environments, loving hoomans and space to feel safe in. 🏠

An Update on our Magnificent May 😻

Having been having some problems walking and getting more and more grouchy it was time to dig deeper and find out the full extent of what has been going on with the stunning May.

She arrived as a Stray in May, so we don't really have that much history about her. Other than how gorgeous she is 💞

She grew in confidence quickly but her amazing fosterer could see that May wasn't fully comfortable and was experiencing some pain. Since June she has been back and forward to the vets, been on pain meds (Gabapentin) and slowly started to adjust to her new norm. However, the pain simply wasn't going away and so we took her for a deep dive today where she had extensive tests, bloods, x-rays etc.. and also a dental whilst they had her safely under anesthetic.

She had one tooth removed that had broken in half and a good scale and polish. Not that her teeth have really been an issue but while in Rome and all that...

Importantly her bloods came back clear, as did other tests so no thyroid, kidney or other organ completely fine ✅

It has been determined though, that she has Ankylosing Spondylitis. In essence arthritis but some of the bones in her vertebrae, closer to her neck are fusing together making movement difficult and inevitably painful 😿

This is treatable with anti-inflammatory meds though is not curable and a condition that will be monitored and carefully managed ⛑️

May has a lot of love to give, a lot of life in her and we'll continue to give her everything and more she needs 🐾

Ignoring past bills, today's procedure and tests set us back £599.48 🙀

Not that we are complaining as we have a full diagnosis, know how to manage it and it's why we fundraise to ensure we can take the absolute best care of all our kitties in our care, especially the oldies x

It was our honour to not only meet Mike Adams today, but also Sam Smith and chat all about our incredible rescue and charity.

Both have been incredibly supportive to us and we genuinely appreciate them taking the time to meet us in person.

Mike kindly presented us with a cheque for £500, which we used to become a registered implanter for the new Microchip law but also as extra funds to help with the daily running of the rescue.

Our local communities mean the world to us and it's invaluable to us having Mike and Sam's support x

🐱It was wonderful to be able to pop and see local charity Meow Furever who are based in Burton Joyce and present them with their cheque for £500 from my Councillor Divisional fund.

📅Since November they have re-homed 141 cats and currently have another 50 Fosters. This money will go towards helping them do more.

🐈👴👵Their Oldies for oldies program where older cats are fostered with older people to help combat loneliness have also benefitted form £650 from the County councils LCF fund.

What a Weekend:

Yesterday started with the Burton Joyce Community & Eco Market which was a lovely event and we managed to add a further £273.42 to the kitty. So thank you to everyone that supported. In particular a massive shout out for all the fabulous cat treats&toys, cat food, crate and an awesome future raffle prize which I know everyone will love 💞❤️💞💞

We then got back to the core of what we do and dealt with several emergency requests for assistance. 🆘

As a result we have now welcomed Mum cat (too camera shy for a picture and her beautiful brood who are Pumpkin, Blueberry, Clementine & Kiwi 🐾🐾

We then welcomed Otto, a stunning 5 week old kitten in need of some TLC 💜

In addition we managed to squeeze in Nora, a heavily pregnant stray cat who is due any day now. Her sister or 'friend' is also expecting and it is our hope we can find her space too before she has to give birth outside without the certainty of 24/7 care 😓 Any offers then please dropus a message. The rest of the little family we will also be assisting with the minimum of TNR so that we can help stop the cycle of endless breeding.

We also listed several beauties ready for their chance at a happy future including Venus&Conker, Duck and Isa-Bella. 🙏🙏🙏

However, It's not all been just about the welcomes though. 😻

Also this weekend, the awesome duo that is Dobbie & Eddie found their furever home, as did our sprightly Kanga & Roo. Lilly left for her Furever happy after on Friday and 'Lucky' a stray mum we took in went to her Purrfect Furever home only today. Sylvia leaves us tomorrow so it's been somewhat of a hectic but Fantabulous weekend.
