Never stop training your dog or stop reminding your dog of the training that they have already had🐾💕
Our dog has been making great progress with his reactivity towards cats and dogs but it's important to keep reminding him of what he has learnt in the past🎉so...
we took a walk down to the field to practice, practice, practice
by playing the ENGAGE/DISENGAGE game. 👌

In the video, we use a soft toy stooge dog as Monty's object to engage and disengage from - I'm very lucky that my husband doesn't mind walking around a field with a soft toy on a lead, although he can't help himself from laughing at times😂😍

This game is really great if your dog reacts to dogs/people/cars/cats/birds and is a great game that will help your dog not to react to different things in the future.

🐾 start, a safe distance away from the trigger/object ie far enough away for your dog not to be reacting (barking/lunging from fear or excitement) and where you can get focus from your dog.

🐾 Let your dog look at the trigger/object (Engage)

🐾 say "YES" at the same time your dog is looking at the trigger/object

🐾 As your dog looks back at you (Disengage) reward your dog with REALLY HIGH VALUE TREATS

🐾 When your dog is looking at the trigger and is not reacting, move a little bit closer to the trigger and repeat the above steps🙌

In the next month we have some fabulous events coming up for you to come along to! 🐶
🐾Tuesday 12th November - 1pm🐾
Training at the cafe - included in this is a puppacino for your dog and snacks for yourself! 🧁
This is an ideal event for if you would like to do some more training with your dog in a cafe style setting! This is for dogs who already have some nice basic settle work and you'd like to put your dogs to the test!
This is a 1 hour session and there will be some experienced trainers on hand to guid you along the way!

Absolutely love my job - Alfie absolutely smashed his training walk this evening 👏 disengaging beautifully from many dogs at the park, followed by Mouse's puppy training 1-2-1 second session - mastering 'drop it' which comes in very handy when you would like your dog to freely give up an item in their mouth such as your socks😂🐶🎉💕
