It's just turned Christmas Day, and I'm signing off for the next 24 hours π
Here is your final entry of the 2024 Crossing Cottage Advent Calendar. Enjoy the chaos of us letting our single-kennelled hounds choose their own toys π€£
We hope that you all have a wonderful Christmas and we look forward to seeing many of you on Boxing Day.
Day 22 of the Crossing Cottage Advent Calendar!
This is the Second Round of the Sausage Gobbling Championship. It's a long one, so grab yourself a drink and put your feet up to watch.
Please show our hounds some love in the comments, and by sharing the post - the more we raise awareness about how wonderful greyhounds are, the more will find their forever homes.
Thank you <3
Oh my goodness, I can't believe that I'm late with my 19th entry for the Crossing Cottage Advent Calendar! I thought I'd just be able to sneak it in on time, but never mind...
This is a 'special' one. Listen with sound, but not too loud...
Sorry Not Sorry π€£
Day 13 of our Crossing Cottage Advent Calendar.
Today, John and I would like to use this opportunity to thank all of you for your support and to wish you a very Happy Christmas <3
I can't believe we're half way through the Crossing Cottage Advent Calendar for 2024! Woo Hoo π₯³π₯³π₯³
Today's hound in the spotlight is our lovely young man, Jumbo (aka Jimbo).
He's a big boy with a big personality <3
If you are not in a position to offer a hound a home, please share Jumbo's post. These large, black boys need all of the exposure that they can get :(
Day 3 of our Crossing Cottage Advent Calendar...
Introducing Tiktok, who is simply gorgeous and an all round lovely little girl.
If you are unable to offer her a home, please share her video to help her find her family <3
Our third "Howl-o-ween Hound" is Raven.
Now, I know we're not supposed to have favourites at the kennels, however Raven is mine (but don't tell the others!) π₯°
He really is a special boy and is so deserving of a home and family of his own.
(As always, better with sound)
The winner of my lovely painting is Andrew Birkett!
Runners up are Francesca Potter, Scott Wollington and Liz Foster
Well done to you all, and massive thanks to everyone who participated in Coco's fundraiser β€οΈ
When Bill left for his new home last week, we were concerned about how our nervous girl, Dinky, would adjust to having a new kennel mate.
We shouldn't have worried - she seems to absolutely adore big, sensitive Arnie. He really is a gentle giant and was happily sharing his blanket with her all evening π
Described by the vet on her last visit as the friendliest hound they have ever met, Coco is coming along to The Greyhound Derby at the end of June in her capacity as official 'Crossing Cottage Ambassadog', to help with our fundraising efforts and to raise the profile of retired hounds as pets β€οΈ
My mum and I spent the afternoon making her a special show jacket for the occasion - I think you'll agree that she looks adorable in it!
The final day for our Advent calendar!
I'm amazed that I've made it through the whole month without missing a single day π€£ It's been so worthwhile as Bob, Sailor, Dolly and hopefully Dusty will be heading off to their forever homes very early in the new year!
Day twenty-four features a very special video which we hope you enjoy.
I would like to take this opportunity, from John and myself, to thank the staff, volunteers and trustees at Crossing Cottage for the work that you do. Special thanks also to those of you who have one (or more) of our hounds in your home <3
