πŸ‘‹ Meet Darwin

He was a stray puppy, though despite a rough start in life he is super healthy and such a good boy!

🐾 Darwin is (we believe) a bluetick coonhound x pointer. He is super loving loves exploring but equally super chill and happy to snuggle up with a movie. He loves dogs and has been training in a mixed pack size from chihuahuas and spaniels up to labs and pointer. He truly is adorable!

He would likely love a home with other dogs though is calm and loving without them around so would be fine without.

He is just finishing off his house training (he isn't destructive more exposure to washing machines etc) and has been crate training well to! He will be ready for adoption very soon!

🐢 Born 20-03-2024
🏑 Can live with children
πŸ• Mixed breed

πŸ’Œ Please share or contact us if you think you can offer him a loving home

We are developing a non for profit branch as a dog rescue centre. We have helped foster a range of dogs and train and care for them over the years and have the facilities and expertise to be able to help even if in smaller numbers than larger organisations. After volunteering in a rescue overseas that helps saves strays that have been dumped/tied to posts in horrific conditions etc this has just sped up our mission.

This will be focused on our main area of expertise being hunting type dogs, spaniels labs pointers etc as we are highly skilled in the training of these, we will of course help other breeds as and were possible too.

We are doing everything at our own costs feeding training, housing etc but looking for as much help as possible to allow us to continue. Our core focus is to of course help the dogs find homes but also utilise our team of trainers to rehabilitate or simply train them so they can integrate into a family home with ease.

We will be doing lots of fundraisers so anyone who has anything to donate to raffles such as products or services to help us do fun raffles etc to fund raise will be welcome please drop us a message.

We are looking for food/blankets/dog beds (not human quilts as these cant be washed daily)/toy donations, of course fund raising for vet care, but also volunteers this can be registering to take the dogs on walks, grooming, even outside trainers, cleaners willing to help with day to day care and handymen willing to help build and create new environmental areas for them on our plot. Please drop us a message if you can help with any of the above.

We will also be looking for sponsors of the dogs and or equipments willing to help.

Please also message us your details if you would be interested in rehoming a dog as we can tailor a dogs training for your lifestyle - I.e runners, active families, lap dogs and so on.

These are being staged as projects to ensure standards remain high for the dogs at all times project 1 is the first 10 dogs and we have a fund raiser below, project 2 will be extending our paddock/play areas for them to have more space this will be simply fencing it in and landscaping.

Please share guys

Its been such a worrying time for XL type dog owners and of course we have had many messages and mixed rules from defra and insurers in relation to field hire and being off lead/muzzled etc. The gist of it in short is you can still use the field as long as you follow certain rules they set, it is your own private land during your slot without public access so the muzzle and lead can come off :D! Insurances wont cover the majority of things because of this so you do need your own insurance in place.

So to answer the majority of questions a bit more clearly we are receiving rules, I will put below what we know/rules at the current time, if this changes we will of course post an update. We want to just remind all that we love all breeds and any rules we have to apply are because we have to apply them unfortunately and not supported or created by us :(

The rules we have been given are:

Any XL bully 'types' and or other banned breeds, (just as a sad reminder your dog does not have to meet all the characteristics of their 'type' definition, if your dog meets a majority of the characteristics they can still be 'typed' under the same banner, please do research for your dog to be sure):

1. Must be registered with the index of exempted dog (IED) and a copy of the life certificate must be made available to us on request

2. A copy of the public liability insurance certificate for the dog is obtained and provided to us

3. The dog handler ratio has to be 1:1 with their owner at all times

4. The dog is Neutered

5. The dog is Micro Chipped and up to date details

6. The field is private property with no public access passing through which means you can remove the lead and muzzle when securely in the paddock (however you can drive onto our paddock so this makes it easier)

7. The field is securely fenced and locked so the dog cannot escape - this applies to all dogs and very very rare but please give the gate a wobble and be sure you have closed and secured it properly to extra vigilant

8. The dog is kept on a lead and muzzled until the gate is shut when entering the field

9. The dog is put back on a lead and muzzled or secured inside the vehicle before opening the gate to leave the field (not free roaming in the car with a possibility of escape basically)

10. You can remove the lead and muzzle once inside the secured field

If the household has more than 1 dog, they can come to the field together, but the banned breed dog must have its own handler and then another member of the same household needs to be present to supervise the other dogs (this cannot be members of different households).

If there is more than 1 banned breed in the household they can come together but each dog must have its own handler.

So with all the sad rules in place, the good news out of all of this is you can still give your dogs some off lead, off muzzle freedom to run play and be a dog!

We have to work together to ensure we can continue to offer this service to 'banned breeds' so as much as it breaks our heart anyone not following the rules will have to stop using the field, this is only because we don't ever want a scenario were they don't let us provide a safe space for all dogs and we do nothing to make them remove secure fields as an off lead option.

We can also help with muzzle training for anyone worried please message our training page FTK9

What we do

Fleurs Friendly Fields has a fully enclosed private dog walking paddock for hire in the Nottinghamshire area (Haywood Oaks NG21 0PE). It will include free fun agility obstacles, on site training and doggy daycare, we will also hold puppy and breed specific socialisation groups and fun informal shows and events.

It is designed to be a safe environment that will reduce the amount of dogs in public playing parks, protect the dog against other unwanted dogs approaching or simply an area to train your dog on recall in a space your dog can run free with absolutely no worries. It can be privately hired in 30 minute or 60 minute time slots for the likes of:

- Fun for owners and dogs to try out the obstacles

- Nervous dogs
