DIY Frozen Treats for Your Furry Friend! 🐾🍦

With the 2 days of British summertime heat that we are about to experience, it's the perfect time to whip up some homemade frozen treats to keep our dogs cool and happy.
Here are a few simple and healthy recipes that your pups will love:

**1. Peanut Butter & Banana Pops:**
- 1 ripe banana
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons peanut butter (make sure it's xylitol-free)
- Blend all ingredients until smooth, pour into ice cube trays or moulds, and freeze.

**2. Chicken Broth Cubes:**
• Make some bone broth in a slow cooker, overnight.
- Pour broth into ice cube trays and freeze.
- For extra fun, add a small piece of cooked chicken or a dog treat in the middle before freezing.

**3. Fruit & Yogurt Mix:**
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- ½ cup blueberries or strawberries (fresh or frozen)
- Mix together and pour into moulds or ice cube trays. Freeze until solid.
- Please bear in mind if your dog can tolerate high sugar fruit first.

**4. Watermelon Bites:**
- Seedless watermelon, cut into small chunks
- Place chunks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze.

**Tips for Making Frozen Dog Treats:**
- Always check ingredients for dog safety (no added sugars, artificial sweeteners, or harmful ingredients).
- Use silicone moulds or ice cube trays for easy removal.
- Store treats in a freezer bag or container for up to 2 months.

Feel free to get creative and mix different ingredients that your dog enjoys. You can also use these fillings in Kongs, on Lickimats and even in empty Cow Hooves! 🐄

Stay cool and keep those tails wagging! 🐕❄️
Oh and above all don’t get too excited, the rain will be back before you know it 🤣

🌿🐕 **Why Kelp is a Superfood for Your Dog!** 🐕🌿

Have you ever considered adding kelp to your dogs food bowl? Both Ivy and Poppy have it daily in their dinner 🐶🐶 and here are the reasons why we add this seaweed superfood:

1. **Rich in Essential Nutrients**: Kelp is loaded with vitamins and minerals like iodine, iron, calcium, and magnesium. These nutrients are essential for your dog's overall health and well-being.

2. **Supports Thyroid Function**: The natural iodine in kelp helps regulate thyroid function, which is crucial for maintaining your dog's metabolism and energy levels.

3. **Promotes Healthy Skin and Coat**: Kelp can improve your dog’s skin and coat health, reducing itching and dryness while giving their fur a healthy shine.

4. **Enhances Digestion**: With its natural fiber content, kelp aids in digestion and promotes a healthy gut, helping your dog absorb nutrients more efficiently.

5. **Boosts Immune System**: Kelp’s antioxidants can help strengthen your dog’s immune system, keeping them more resistant to illnesses.

6. **Supports Dental Health**: Kelp can help reduce plaque and tartar build-up on your dog’s teeth, contributing to better oral health.

Add a sprinkle of kelp powder to your dog's food or look for dog treats that include this powerful ingredient. Your pup will thank you with extra tail wags and a healthy, happy life! 🐾💚

🐶✨ **The Benefits of Hairy Treats for Your Dog!** ✨🐶

Did you know that hairy treats can be a fantastic addition to your dog’s diet?

We get asked all the time why you would feed and hairy treats to your dogs so we thought we would share some of the amazing benefits 🤩

1. **Natural Deworming**: Hairy treats act as a natural dewormer. The hair can help cleanse the digestive tract, removing parasites and other nasties.

2. **Dental Health**: Chewing on hairy treats helps clean your dog's teeth, reducing plaque and tartar build-up. It's a tasty way to maintain those pearly whites!

3. **Digestive Health**: The hair provides a source of natural fiber, which can aid digestion and promote a healthy gut.

4. **Mental Stimulation**: Chewing is a great way to keep your dog mentally stimulated and reduce boredom. Hairy treats can offer a longer-lasting chew, keeping your pup engaged.

5. **Nutritional Benefits**: These treats are often high in protein and other essential nutrients, supporting your dog's overall health and well-being.

So, next time you're looking for a treat for your furry friend, consider giving them a hairy treat!

Are you looking for a fun and enriching activity for your dog? Snuffle mats might be the perfect solution! These innovative toys are designed to stimulate your dog’s mind and senses, providing numerous benefits that go beyond simple play.

What is a Snuffle Mat?

A snuffle mat is a fabric mat with strips of cloth where you can hide treats. It mimics the natural foraging behavior of dogs, encouraging them to sniff and hunt for their food.

Benefits of Snuffle Mats…

1. Mental Stimulation - Engaging your dog’s brain helps prevent boredom and reduces destructive behavior.
2. Stress Relief - The act of sniffing and searching for food can be calming for dogs, making snuffle mats great for anxious pets.
3. Physical Exercise - While not as vigorous as a run in the park, snuffling provides a gentle form of exercise that can be especially beneficial for older or less active dogs.

How to Use a Snuffle Mat…

Using a snuffle mat is simple:
1. Sprinkle treats throughout the fabric strips.
2. Place the mat on the floor and encourage your dog to start sniffing.
3. Supervise the first few sessions to ensure your dog understands the game and doesn’t chew on the mat.

Snuffle mats are an excellent addition to your dog’s enrichment routine. They provide mental and physical benefits, promote natural foraging instincts, and can be a great bonding activity for you and your furry friend 🐾🐾🐾
