The practice is open as normal today, Good Friday, until 6pm and Saturday 9am-3pm. We will then reopen at 8am on Tuesday 22nd.

Vets will be available for emergencies out of hours 24/7.

Bluetongue restrictions update.

APHA have announced that some of the Bluetongue restrictions are being eased as of today as we have entered the low vector period.

The restriction zone remains in place.

UK Chief Veterinary Officer announces we are now in the seasonally vector low period for bluetongue virus.

The Bluetongue Restricted Zone is very close to our area now. If you suspect disease then you must report it to APHA on 03000200301.

Vaccination is possible out of the restricted zone but you must apply for a licence from APHA. Please contact the practice for more details if you are interested in vaccinating stock.

Further cases of BTV3 has been confirmed in Norfolk and Suffolk in both cattle and sheep.

Due to evidence of local transmission, the existing TCZ has been revoked and a Restricted Zone has been put in place around the counties of Norfolk and Suffolk. Keepers of cattle, sheep, camelids and other ruminants must remain vigilant and follow the restrictions on animal and germinal product movements that apply.

The first Bluetongue BTV3 case has been confirmed in Norfolk following clinical suspicion in a single sheep.

Please be vigilant for signs in the upcoming weeks in cattle, sheep and camelids. Bluetongue is notifiable and must be reported, so if you have any concerns then please contact the practice.

The first BTV3 case in 24/25 has been confirmed at a premises near Haddiscoe, South Norfolk.

A 20km Temporary Control Zone has been put in place. Keepers of cattle, sheep, camelids and other ruminants must remain vigilant and follow the restrictions on animal and germinal product movements that now apply in the zone.
