All of the horses here at Upsall have now tested negative for strangles.
The seven confirmed cases of strangles that have been isolated at Upsall have had Guttural Pouch Wash’s and they have all had negative results.
The 83 horses, our green group have all had their second blood test and the results have come back negative.
Our green group have been able to ride, turnout and go about their normal yard routine over the last few weeks continuing to take extra precautions such as disinfecting boots and washing hands.
Clevedale Vets Equine have been absolutely fantastic throughout the whole process and all tests were carried out safely and efficiently.
Our liveries have been just super they have trusted the process and have shown continued support for the yard.
We feel we have achieved an excellent result. It has shown the value of locking down hard initially and also following the vets advice has been invaluable to keeping all of our horses here safe.
We now know the status of all our horses here at Upsall and have plans and precautions in place to keep everyone safe.
We have consulted with our vets and are confident that we will reopen our gates on March 1st, we are very excited to hold competitions, hire the gallops out, run XC clinics and also welcome back our Pony Club and Riding Club groups once again 😊
💙💛 We would also like to share some other wonderful news, our lovely mare Licit gave birth to a filly foal last weekend. We have named her Tilly, both are doing fantastic and have enjoyed some time out in the paddock today 💛💙
The Labrador might be the only one getting full use out of the water jump right now but we have received lots of positive news here at Upsall Grange EC in the last couple of weeks with our Green Group of horses staying green following the second set of blood tests and after Guttural Pouch Wash’s a number of our Red Group horses have come back clear 🥳 Our liveries now have full use of the facilities again and the horses are allowed back out in the paddocks, lots of happy horses & ponies here at Upsall Grange EC 💙💛 Fingers crossed the progress continues and we hope to be able to open our gates again soon 🤞
