It’s always good to have a confident dog to show the others what to do in new situations . Badgers doing his very best to help the girls out , they got the hang of it eventually!

First ba****ck ride on star . So happy with this mares progress . Ba****ck riding has so many benefits . It develops a balanced , independent seat , but aside from that and equally important , it develops trust and a real connection to your horse , not just physically but mentally too .
If you’re interested in finding a deeper connection , working on building trust and that feeling of freedom with your horse PM me . All abilities(horse or rider ) catered for .

I often get some funny looks when I meet folk on my pack walk . Most people are interested to know about the dogs and how I get them to walk together nicely . The truthful answer is that it took time and patience. I didn’t just get up one morning and decide to take 6 dogs out together . The pack grew over time and the numbers increased only as and when the existing group had a solid foundation .believe it or not I drew on my experience of driving horses and applied the theory to the dog pack . It worked very well once I’d got my knitting organised and I now have a very solid little gang . I just need a skate board to complete the mad dog lady look !

Never underestimate a good farrier ! After all that splashing and rolling and running about in the mud , all horses still have a full compliment of shoes . Thank you Phill Day .

It’s hard in winter to keep the horses entertained , but Mother Nature provided some enrichment last night ! Joseph was overjoyed , he loves splashing and he certainly made the most of the mud ! For a horse who hates puddles , Star was surprisingly confident with her first encounter of the field being flooded . Shelly of course is way too sensible to get cold and wet and is just cross the grass supply is now halved . At least their legs will be clean when they come in this afternoon !

I loved meeting these two beauties recently . I spent some time helping them And their owner
Find some relaxation on walks and overcome some reactivity issues . It’s lovely to hear of the great progress they are making and I’m looking forward to the next stage of their training .

When You say “sit “ and the only one that does isn’t actually a dog (but don’t tell Mr Cole that ! )
It’s been a steady process to get all these dogs accustomed to Mr Cole , particularly as there’s a few sight hounds in the mix , but with steady , regular , positive exposure to the dogs , Mr Cole became more confident around them and the dogs become less exited by him. Slow and steady wins the race ! And as always , the training was taken at the pace the animals set , I had no time frame in mind and no expectations and how each meeting would go , just let the animals guide the process.
