Background
I have a wealth of knowledge and experience with dogs and cats both personally and professionally. I was lucky enough to spend 13 years working in London’s Battersea Dogs & Cats Home where I fulfilled a number of roles in caring, training and rehoming dogs and cats. For a time I specialised in puppies and German Shepherds but worked with a variety of breeds, temperaments and ages, asse
ssing behavioural temperaments on a daily basis. As well as owning a number of my own dogs, throughout my career I fostered a large number of rescue dogs and cats to help with anxiety issues related to being in kennels or requiring intensive training in a home environment. Part of one of my roles included visiting a number of boarding kennel facilities
used by some breed rescues, for the most I was disappointed and was sure that if I was paying for my pet to be looked after I would expect and want a lot more. I was sure I could offer a far superior service than I had witnessed which is where the idea of Paws & Whiskers Care was born. Doggie Day Care/ Overnight Home Boarding
At Paws & Whiskers Care we know how precious pets are to owners and how important it is to have peace of mind that your pet will be well cared for and comfortable whilst you are at work or away. We provide a home from home service where dogs are treated as one of our own without the stress of being left at home all day and/or the anxiety they can get from boarding kennels. We are fully insured and inspected by the local authority to provide a safe and reliable service. We can provide dog beds, blankets, bowls, chews and treats but for dietary requirements request enough food is provided for the length of the dogs stay. I have experience administering most medical treatment and happy to provide this service at no extra charge. Before boarding any dog we request a full questionnaire/consent form is provided so that we know as much as we can about your pet to provide the best service possible. Collection and drop off service is offered and recommended free of charge within a 20 minute commute from Market Overton, Rutland. Dogs boarding with us will be walked at least x 3 times a day (more or less if required for health/age of dog). Doggie Day Care- £20 Drop off and pick up between the hours of 8am and 6pm. Overnight Home Boarding- £23 per night
We like to offer a flexible service to please get in touch if you require something a little different and we will do our best to accommodate you. Professional Dog Walking
The areas we walk in are predominantly countryside but we like to vary the locations of walks to keep dogs stimulated with new and exciting walks. We want the dogs in our care to have a fun and inevitably that means your dog will sometimes get wet and muddy. We will do our best to dry your dog before returning them home. Dogs can be walked on or off lead and with walking aids depending on your preference/permission and the dog’s ability to demonstrate a good level of recall.
£12 Group walk per hour. Cats and Small Pets Home Visits
We offer a home visiting service which is ideal for cats or small pets as they can stay in their own surroundings. We will visit once or twice a day, whichever you prefer and feed your pet, give fresh water, clean the litter/cage (if needed) and give lots of attention and cuddles. We can also draw your curtains, bring in your post, water the plants and turn lights on and off keeping your house safe while you are away.
£7 per visit- within 20 min commute from Market Overton, Rutland. Puppy/Elderly Dog Home Visits
For some pets, like puppies or elderly dogs they may require visits or toilet breaks as well as or instead of walks. Some elderly dogs may require more frequent toilet breaks or just some comfort and care during the day. Puppies require time and attention particular when they are young to establish the basics of house training and being able to be left alone. We can help with the basic training including providing mental and physical stimulation and cleaning up any accidents and if required feeding. House and Pet Sitting
Depending on availability and particular needs we can also provide house and pet sitting where we stay at your home and take care of both your home and pets- please get in contact for individual requirements. Puppy Training and Behavioural Advice
Having a new puppy is a very exciting time but too often puppies can be allowed to build up bad habits that can make a big difference to how your adult dog will turn out. We believe there are fundamentals that can be instilled at an early age to help your dog become a well rounded, fun but behaved dog. We can offer advice and training on a great number of aspects to owning a puppy from house training, crate training, chewing, mouthing, basic commands, recall to walking nicely on lead. We can also tailor make training that is specific for you and your puppies needs. At Paws & Whiskers Care we believe it is important that owners understand the concept of any training or advice to deliver a consistent approach. We feel it is important to do much of the training in the environment they live in to make it specific to his/her needs and to work in every day situations. With this in mind, we offer one to one training and will come to your house free of charge (within a 20 minute commute from Market Overton, Rutland).
£25 for 1.5 hours one to one training and advice session

It’s been long long since I have posted on here. This week was a sad week as we had to say good luck and goodbye to Poppy. Poppy is going to miss her boyfriends Chester and Caspar so much. Thankfully, she has a new addition to the family, Isla, who she can lead astray and create all sorts of mischief in Scotland. Xx Here are some photos of her last week with some friends xx
Someone has missed Inja, she has also promised to take Inja out for a run later when it cools down. No excuses Phoenix you have promised!!
So I have this gorgeous bunch this morning.
More dogs up to no good…! 😆
The one benefit of all the heavy machinery wrecking the paths in the woods, mini hot tubs!
Saffie’s Princess Leia impression.
Give them a inch and they take a mile. I said they could get a little muddy today.....
Tula just loving the big puddles and ditches! 💦
This is not George’s happy face, first I have made him come out for a morning walk and to top it off its raining!
We were really worried about Murry last week after his last vet visit and thought it would be the end of this adorable duo. Thankfully, he has surprised everyone and decided he is not quite ready to go yet and wanted to spend some more time with his doggie friends instead!!! ♥️ 😃
This lot had fun last week.
Little Freddie, meeting some new friends for the day.
Just gorgeous!!!
Mabel had a sleepover and got to meet lots of new friends, she even partook in their favourite thing of getting wet and muddy.
Alfie made up a new game and encouraged Charlie and Frodo to join in, try and get the wobbly branch!
Maisie showing off with her jumping skills, Luna trying to do one better by climbing a tree and Hugo confident he won the competition by sitting on a stump and looking gorgeous!! ♥️ 🐾
Saffie and Radley’s little stay with us. Saffie is the first dog I have had to put to bed with a custard cream 😋 x
I am so sad to say goodbye to the gorgeous Coco who is moving out of area but also a welcome to the lovely Maisie. Xx ❤️
Some beautiful photos of some of my regulars and little Pippa who will be visiting more often. 🐾
Nanma joined us for a walk in the woods and as usual all the dogs loved her 🥰 especially Caspar.
Hugo, George’s little mate stayed over for a few days and this gorgeous, cheeky boy soon became ruler the house 👑 x
I am behind again with photos so please excuse the multiple posts.
The dogs loved having the girls off for the half term!
