It was a first at the centre today for Pumpkin and her team.

At 12 months old, this lass struggles with over excitement around others when our and about.
Although we will need more sessions to help her, her first session looked at how to capture appropriate behaviour. How to interrupt barking and lunging in the right way and how to prevent it happening in the first place.

Young Max attended his one to one today.

At 3 Max has done lots of different training and his handler puts so much time into him.

What do I mean by foundations? These are basic skills and behaviours that form a platform upon which your training can develop.

Today we looked at establishing basic behaviour. Knowing when and how to remove food, plus when to introduce a verbal cue so that the dog will learn to answer to a cue which is delivered once.

It’s always good to revisit this to make sure you understand how to deliver your training in a way that is clear and consistent to your dog.

This photo is not the most exciting dog training you will see.

So why is it so important?

These dogs are advanced dogs. The clients in this shot have spent a long time teaching their dogs how to be calm around other dogs. None of the dogs in this picture are steady dogs. They are all high drive dogs.

So this picture is a reflection of the training they have done with me. It’s a testament to the work the handlers have done.

Well done to our Monday advanced group. All of my classes work on calm behaviour around others, this helps them when they compete, when they are out and about and also to promote general calmness.

ALL HAIL MARGOT!
Margot the spaniel demonstrates her fantastic recall past the distraction of a duck.
When I first met Margot she would have chased the duck, or many other types of birds actually!

Effective dog training delivered with kindness

Bronte Canine offers dog training from 3 locations in West Yorkshire, Oakworth, Hebden Bridge and our new purpose built training facility in Denholme.

Our head trainer Paula Stone has studied with the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) for 3 years and is a now a full member of the association. Also currently studying Canine Behaviour Management at level 5 - foundation degree level with Compass Education. All of our methods are up to date reward based methods developed using learning theory principles. Our three training assistants are also studying for dog training related qualifications or have qualified at various levels.

We pride ourselves on offering engaging, quality dog training at reasonable prices. All designed to prevent problems, develop your bond with your dog and improve your dogs ability to settle into home life. If group training does not suit you or your dog please do get in touch - we offer a one to one training service at our training centre or if needs be at your home.
