Let’s hear it for team Pickle! When covering play in class it became apparent that Pickle didn’t enjoy play much. His handler has worked hard to build value in play over time.
This is great work as we can now use play as a reinforcer when training. It’s also great for building relationships .

LOOK! Regular attendee Harvey has got a brother! Welcome Indian to the gang!
Sharing space, humans and activities with another dog can be a bit of a journey for the dogs.
These guys are getting help to settle the dogs and set them up for success. Lovely to have time with them all.

I’ve been asked recently a few times about how long it takes to train a dog to walk nicely on a lead.
The answer to this varies depending on breed, reinforcement history with pulling and also consistency from handler. But I can tell you that I can give you an effective plan. Just look at Baxter here, this is the result of following a kind, fair and effective plan. What an enjoyable walk this was (this was on Thursday)

Effective dog training delivered with kindness

Bronte Canine offers dog training from 3 locations in West Yorkshire, Oakworth, Hebden Bridge and our new purpose built training facility in Denholme.

Our head trainer Paula Stone has studied with the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) for 3 years and is a now a full member of the association. Also currently studying Canine Behaviour Management at level 5 - foundation degree level with Compass Education. All of our methods are up to date reward based methods developed using learning theory principles. Our three training assistants are also studying for dog training related qualifications or have qualified at various levels.

We pride ourselves on offering engaging, quality dog training at reasonable prices. All designed to prevent problems, develop your bond with your dog and improve your dogs ability to settle into home life. If group training does not suit you or your dog please do get in touch - we offer a one to one training service at our training centre or if needs be at your home.
