What a fantastic day we had today at Dalmally Show!

Glorious sunshine and an incredible back drop for our very busy pony rides! ☀️🗻

Thank you so much to everyone who came along for a pony ride (it was lovely to see so many happy wee faces!), to those who towed the trailers to get us there, and to the Dalmally Show Committee for having us. 😁

Well done to our team of helpers and horses who helped it all run so smoothly, especially during the very busy period this afternoon. 🌟

OPEN THROUGHOUT SUMMER HOLIDAYS ☀️

A reminder that we are open right through the Summer holidays and lessons are on as normal every week.

If you are away at all, please just ping us a wee message and we can note in the diary when your child will not be at lessons.

This just helps us to plan ahead as we know where there will be available spaces.

END OF SEASON 2023 ✨

We are now closed for the winter period and want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has joined us throughout 2023.

To everyone who rides regularly and to those who joined us for a trek whilst on holiday - we have loved having you all riding with us and have met so many fantastic people!

We have had another fantastic year of lessons and trekking with lots of fab achievements and memories made along the way.

Our year ended with such sadness with the loss of our beloved Sammy but we cannot thank everyone enough for the outpouring of kindness that you all showed through messages, cards, drawings and the sharing of memories and photos from over 30 special years. It really meant so much. 🥰

We will reopen in March 2024 and will be in touch with everyone towards the end of the winter break regarding next year’s sessions.

We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and look forward to seeing you all again in 2024.

It is with broken and heavy hearts that we share the news that we lost our beloved Sammy yesterday, after a short illness. 💔

Sammy was born and bred at Achnalarig and enjoyed 33 years of a happy and healthy life.

He was a firm favourite with so many riders at Achnalarig. A trustworthy and reliable boy who just loved his job of teaching children to ride.

So many people have fond memories of Sammy, spanning well over 25 years...

A familiar face that people would recognise and talk about when they returned - some who had ridden him over 20 years ago, some who remember Sammy as being the pony they first rode when they fell in love with riding, some whose children were now learning to ride but on the same pony they’d ridden many years ago and the current children who just loved him as their favourite each week.

He just gave so many people so much joy and would always be waiting at the gate for his supper with a wee whiny when we appeared. 🥰

We would like to thank Alasdair & Julie at Oban Vets for their help and care over the weekend. Sammy left us peacefully last night with his field mates by his side. ❤️

If anyone has any photos or memories of Sammy, we would love to see/hear them.

Thank you for everything, Sammy. We’ll miss you so much. 🧡

AVAILABILITY - Saturday 14th October

Due to lots of our regular riders being away on holiday, we have quite a few spaces available tomorrow in our children’s 30 minute group sessions.

If you have a wee one who is on our waiting list or who would just like to come along for a shot on a pony, just send us a wee message and we’ll see what suitable spaces we have for them to come along tomorrow.

We are incredibly busy this weekend, with lots of interest in rides, so we just want to ensure our lists are up to date so we know where the available spaces are when responding to these enquiries.

There will be another opportunity to browse the pop up shop tomorrow for anyone who was unable to make it today. ☺️

Our wee yard pop up shop is back this weekend, on Saturday 15th July, selling stables’ merchandise alongside some other horsey clothing & bits and bobs!

We have the preloved corner back again, with some second hand items at bargain prices. If anyone has any outgrown riding clothing they would like to get some pennies for, please hand in to the stables by Friday (including a tag/sticker with your name and how much you would like for the item). If the item sells, we’ll get the money to you. You will receive any unsold items back.

We know lots of people are on holiday so if there are any stables’ clothing items anyone is looking for, please just let us know. We can send photos, sizes, colours and prices.

We may also do another date towards the end of the summer so that anyone who misses this one, can come along to the next one.

Just a quick reminder that we are open as normal right through the summer, including over the school holidays ☀️

If you are away on holiday at any point, please pop us a wee message with any dates you/your child won’t be at lessons.

This just helps us see where we have availability and lets us keep the diary and lists up to date.

Can we also please politely request that payments for lessons are all made on the same day as the session is attended. This just helps us keep track of everything on a daily basis, when we match up payments for each day in the evening. This can become very tricky, especially when it’s very busy, when we have to chase up overdue/missed payments.
