First night of a four week Scent Workshop.
Teaching the dog to use their nose to find a specific scent and starting to get them to give an indication behaviour once found.
Bonnie and Rosa are definitely up for the lake being one of the locations for the Scent Workshop 🤣
Spaniel time at Hoopers on Saturday with daughter and mother, Rosa and Bonnie and not to be outdone Lottie.

Feeling much better today so the last session of 2023 Hoopers will take place at 18.00.
Wednesday morning Smart Skills practiced their Middle. Ideal for when you are in busy areas or for small dogs to keep them from being stepped on or to make them feel safe.

On this morning's walk we still had time for some training. A little urban parkour using objects that we found out on our route.
Super proud of Adira who came 2nd in both the morning events, In the afternoon she had a 5th with clear a round in tunnellers (see video) and by the last one she was so tired that she could not focus and was eliminated.
Mouse was eliminated on the first three runs and came 8th with 10 faults but really fast time in Hoopers.

Smart Skills practicing their recall with distractions.
Loose lead walking multiple dogs. The two Spitz Klein are very good on their harnesses but the Cocker is young and has a tendency to pull. Whilst still training the loose lead, we are using some scaffolding to make the everyday walking more successful and help prevent practicing bad behaviour i.e pulling. I love the swag headcollar as it has a fleece lining and attaches at the back of the head.
Using the environment around you on walks to give extra enrichment and training makes you and your dog happy.

Getting your dog to focus on you. Initially you start in a calm and non-distracting environment and you are stationery. The next step is building movement but still in that nice non-distracting environment.
