Our dogs can be injured so easily. This wee dog was injured with broken glass over in the Rutherglen area. It's owner asked us to share this.
"You smashed a bottle. I was on a short leash.
I saw it before my daddy did. He was quick, but I was quicker. The shard was no bigger than this ⭕️. It went down with one lick. Daddy didn’t notice.
14 hours after I was playing. I was happy. Daddy was smiling.
15 hours after I was not. I screamed. There was blood. Lots of blood. I go limp.
15.5 hours after I’m in the car. I see my other daddy driving. He was sad. We were going fast.
16 hours after I see the vet. I like her. I try to kiss my new friend. I feel pain. Lots more blood. Lots more pain. I can’t move.
18 hours after, I’m in the car again. Daddies are still sad. I try to make them happy. More pain. More blood.
19 hours after, I meet a new vet. I can’t move to say hello.
20 hours after… What is ICU? Why can’t I breathe? Where are my daddies.
22 hours after, I am in a box. I can’t stand. Where are all my friends? There are other pets in other boxes. None of them are happy. The air is easier to breathe here. The pain is moving. My lungs are filled with blood. They can’t help my tummy until my lungs get better.
28 hours after, I see my daddies. They never left. They’ve waited on me all day. I can stand a little, I wag my tail but I can’t touch them. All I want is a hug. I am alone again.
32 hours after, I am sleeping. I wonder if I’ll wake.
You smashed a bottle. I broke a thousand hearts. Now I fight as hard as I can. I’m only 4 months old.
I’m not angry, mad or sad. All I feel is love. I forgive you for I am 4 months old…
But my daddies never will.
Please don’t smash a bottle. If you do, please clean it up. If it wasn’t you who smashed it… please… just clean it up. I am a little puppy. I knew not of what I did.
