My name is Sue and I run Hog Manor which is a small self funded hedgehog rescue in Delph set up in July 2019 after I retired as a theatre nurse.

New admissions at the manor
Sooty, Sweep and Sue were abandoned by mum 😢they’re about 3/4 weeks old, very dehydrated when arrived. Still not eating on their own but fingers crossed 🤞
Mia was found stuck in a drain Monday morning, dont know how long she’d been there. She very timid and still not eating,
Duke was found out in the day, he has fluke, cap eggs and ringworm so he’s a poorly little boy. Treatment started.
Poor Charlie who was found at the roadside died in the night. At least he was warm, loved and he’d had painkillers. Enjoy hoggie heaven little soul xx

Gorgeous Gemma who was admitted as she was surrounded by flies and she had fluke, is being released tonight back to the garden she was found. She has her own hog box and will be support fed.

All hoggies doing well, several nearly ready for release, I’ve contacted our local councillor today to enquire if we can have hedgehog signs errected to try and prevent anymore of these gorgeous creatures being knocked down,
I’ll keep you posted.

Rudy is being released tonight by Mike 😁
Poppy is being released (at last) tonight in my garden 😁
Harry is up to 438g and has lovely whitish spines.
Max, Amber, Alfina and Erin are on treatment for cap eggs and lungworm, Erin’s not coping very well 😢
Lulu, Pixie, Lily, Hermione, Matti and Ben are still under 400g
Freya, Daisy are 426g snd 406g
Rose, Eliza, Octavia, Chilli, Henry and Annika are between 407-468g
Gemma is 503 and nearly ready for release
Angel is 623g but on treatment
Piper is 1035 but still having treatment for wounds on his leg
DC is hopefully being collected soon

Update from hog manor
All doing ok apart from Erin who is grumpy, messy and not coping with treatment. (Picture of her cage below 😩)
Jim will be ready for release at weekend 😁
The 5 babies were found at weekend weighing 15-20g. I’ve never cared for a hoglet so small so I took them to Barbara. Unfortunately there is only 1 little boy surviving- fingers crossed for you little man 🤞💕
Hopefully several will be ready for release in the next couple of weeks xx🦔🦔

Still got 25 hoggies at the rescue 13 of which are babies,
Brock is going home on Friday and we’ve a secure garden for Bruno who has the deformed foot, so all good.
However, can I please remind all hedgehog lovers that even though hedgehogs like mealworms they are extremely bad for them. A mealworm diet can lead to metabolic bone disease a very painful debilitating disease, so please NO MEALWORMS

Sad start to my day, both Chip and Sonic died in the night 😢both were on treatment for cap eggs. RIP in hoggie heaven little ones xx

Now got 10 under 200g, these are: Lily, Chip, Rose, Matti,Daisy,Hermione,Ben,Eliza,Harry and Chilli
3 under 300g- Sonic,Henry and Roma all on treatment
Rudy,Liam,Sally and Benji are under 400g and on treatment
Poppy,Brock and Bandit are still on treatment for ringworm
Sidney is doing ok and finished treatment
Pebbles spines have nearly grown back 😁
Piper is on treatment for cap eggs
Tilly and Remus are waiting release, Tilly needs a home if anyone has a spare hog box,

Unfortunately Dorcas died today, her little body just wasn’t strong enough to fight fluke and roundworm 😢
Matti and Daisy have now been joined by Chip and Rose, 4 hoglets all under 120g found in 2 different places in 24hrs 😩

Since my TV appearance 🤣🤣I’ve had nearly £800 donations. I would love to thank everyone individually but with 30+ hedgehogs I can’t. So thank you thank you thank you I am truly grateful. I’ve ordered another incubator as I’ve struggled this year with babies.

Chip is being released tonight by Stacy and Olivia, the last of the babies born at the manor. Enjoy your life little one.
Today a lady arrived on spec with her grandchildren to see the hoggies, unfortunately I’d only just finished them and I had some really poorly ones so it wasn’t convenient.
Anyone is quite welcome to visit the rescue but please ring or message first to avoid disappointment.

Still very busy at the manor 😩
Jack and Midget are being released tonight by Becca, enjoy freedom little ones.
So 4 released in 2 days but had 6 in.
Now got 1 under 100g who is poorly
7 under 200g
7 under 300g
13 under 400g
5 under 500g
All incubators are full
5 still on treatment for ringworm
8 on treatment for various issues

Little Leo was admitted last night. He’s very thin, full of cap eggs and very dehydrated. He’s got urine burns on his tummy cos he’s so dehydrated. He hasn’t eaten so I made him an egg- he loved it 😁😁
Sorry forgot to say baby bunny who was admitted under 200g had been released weighing over 600g on Lark Hill where there are families of wild bunnies 😁

Adam one Inspires babies is being released tonight in my garden. Adam was the littlest of the babies and had been removed from the nest by mum, maybe because he seemed to have a bent leg. However his leg straightened out and he became a feisty little hog. Adam, it’s been a pleasure looking after you. Stay safe and enjoy freedom xx🦔🦔
All ok at Hog Manor Hope 83g, Faith 84g and Charity 90g are now on the move!!! So the fun begins. The video shows the incubator about 1 minute after I’d cleaned them!! The teletuby babies will hopefully be released at weekend The spice babies have tipped 400g Snoopy, Codi, Pixie and Everest are still under 300g Scarlet, Toby, Otis, Penny and Munchkin are all between 300-400g Adam and Hamilton have just tipped 200g Freddie and Otto are just under 200g Freya the slug pellet poisoned baby is up to 154g. She still can’t walk properly but is getting stronger. Thanks for all continuing support xx🦔🦔
All 29 hogs have had 3 baths today to keep cool and Jean very kindly came and helped. The video below is Jean bathing and cleaning the cage out at the same time!!😂
This video is upsetting 😢 Freya was admitted this week, she’s a little hoglet initially weighing 240g. 24 hrs later she weighs 141g. Vet agrees it is probably slug pellet poisoning 👿 Please share this post to show people what slug pellets do to hedgehogs. It’s distressing, not necessary and in most cases fatal. Freya is having intensive treatment in the hope she pulls through as she’s only a baby. She has a slim chance, but she’s currently safe and comfortable.
Hog manor update Otto has lost his little cage mate 😢Max died yesterday. I think Max had a congenital problem in that he couldn’t wee properly and had a huge tongue which meant he couldn’t lap. However Otto is still just as naughty. Still loads of babies: Between 100-200g there’s Otto and Freddie. 200-300g is Hamilton, Adam, Everest, Pixie, and Codi, 300-400g is Scarlett, Toby, Otis, Dipsy, Laa laa, Oregano, Spice, Snoopy, Storm, Penny, Twinkie-winkie, Paprika and Munchkin. Chives is a chunky at 484g Inspire (5 of the babies mum) is 726 and now having treatment for cap. Thanks for continuing support and donations xx🦔🦔

Another Hog manor update Parky the hedgehog who was admitted with slug pellet poisoning is doing great. Initially he couldn’t stand up at all and one of his back legs was just limp. Now look at him 😁😁😁
