We have had a busy few weeks getting our own horses back into work.

Lots of work and hacking at home and Strule Valley league for Lucy and Eabha. Jumping consistently each week!

Our first camp day for our junior riders is also in the pipeline 🥳

Another Brilliant Summer Camp with Tullylagan Branch of the Pony Club I had a super group of girls who all gave 100% to both stable management and riding over the 3 days. Everyone achieved goals and most importantly had lots of fun! Looking forward to the next 1 👏👏

It was great to get back to Ash Hollow for the first time this year! A super evening well done to our riders. A brilliant confidence building outing.

This Saturday morning I have limited space in the Omagh area and after lunch at my yard in Fintona. Message me to book!

And she is…..

Here is a little write up from Grannie …….

Leah started working with me in October 2022 as full time apprentice studying the level 2 in Equine industry at CAFRE.
Leah’s love of riding started when she was 9yr old when she started riding lessons at the local riding school. Through the riding school Leah
joined the rent a pony scheme. Which sparked off the desire to own her own pony. This dream final came through when Leah was 16yrs old and managed to take a pony on long term loan. Leah was still at school studying for her Leaving cert exam at the time. Now while Leah’s parents were happy for her to ride and have the pony this was on one condition that she personally financed all costs associated with the loan pony and any additional expenses. This she done via a part time job at an ice cream parlour. Leah’s every spare minute outside school and work was spent with the loan pony at the local livery yard. Leah’s grandparents seen her love and desire for horses was unparalleled, so as a surprise gift for her 18th Birthday they purchased a horse. Leah finally owned her own horse. This sadly didn’t go well as it was an unsuitable horse for Leah. Having had many bad falls and failed attempts to progress with the horse Leah continued to try and make it work. Leah asked me for help a year into owning the horse, I tried my best to help but the horse was too big and powerful for Leah. In October 2023 Leah decided to sell the horse to a suitable rider and has just purchased a smaller more suitable horse to progress her riding career.

HF Equine Christmas Fun Evening
Monday evening saw the last of the HF Equine Weekly group lessons in Ecclesville for this year. With 20 competitors all enjoying the christmas jumper evening. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all riders who attend these weekly lessons, their parents who dedicate their time to bringing them along each week, and also to Colm Mccullagh for all his help in ensuring we have the arena and that everything is ready each week. We look forward to these weekly training lessons restarting in January 2024 and if anyone would like to join these lessons or avail of any of our other services please message us on facebook. The much anticipated draw for the Perpetual Omagh Equestrian Shield was won by Jake Mckernaghan. A big well done to Jake and also a word of thanks to Ann at Omagh Equestrian & Country Wearfor all of her support throughout the year and for sponsoring the Shield. Clear rounds on the night from Willow Sloane, Annie Kelly, Anna Mullan, Nancy Teague, Leah Preston, Kelly Rose Daly, Jake McKernaghan, Niamh Lunney, Aoife Kelly, Shauna MulHolland, Mya Scott, Ryann mcPhillips, Tess Wallace,Shauna Murray and Katelyn Mckernaghan. Happy Halloween
