🐶Puppy Academy 🐶
Want to get your puppy to listen to you just like this we can help!!!
Puppy training and improving a puppy's focus offer numerous benefits for both the dog and its owner. Here are some key advantages:
1. Better Behavior: Training helps instill good manners and appropriate behavior, reducing issues like chewing, barking, and jumping. Well-trained puppies are less likely to develop destructive habits.
2. Enhanced Safety: A trained puppy responds to commands such as "sit," "stay," and "come," which can prevent accidents and keep them safe in potentially dangerous situations.
3. Stronger Bond: The training process strengthens the bond between the puppy and the owner. Positive interactions during training build trust and mutual respect.
4. Socialisation: Training often includes exposure to various people, environments, and other animals, which helps puppies become well-adjusted and confident.
5. Mental Stimulation: Training exercises a puppy’s brain, providing mental stimulation that can prevent boredom and related behavioral issues.
6. Easier Vet and groomer Visits: Trained puppies are generally more accustomed to handling and being around people, making vet visits less stressful for both the puppy and the veterinarian.
7. Improved Focus and Attention: Training sessions that emphasize focus and attention help puppies learn to concentrate, which is crucial for effective learning and responsiveness to commands.
9. Better Quality of Life: Well-trained puppies are often more included in family activities, such as outings and travel, enhancing their quality of life and ensuring they are a more integrated part of the family.
Overall, puppy training and improving focus contribute to a harmonious relationship between the puppy and its owner, fostering a well-behaved, confident, and happy dog.

What a super star and super focused puppy!
Little Lola being an absolute doll.
Doing her sit stay and walk away, super for a pup so young to resist the urge to follow!
Well done Lola and Owners 👏🏼
Some following and sitting From gorgeous Keano .
Introducing the starting points for loose lead walking, notice how he doesn’t even need a command yet sits as we stop. Calm, relaxed and happy
Simple but effective training !
Sit, stay walk away , it’s seems easy but a lot of dogs won’t like it when your break their line of eye contact and the will tend to follow you.
This demonstrates impulse control in the presence of distractions and without eye contact from the handler.
It’s a super skill to have
We cover this plus more advanced versions in our 3 week obedience course
We still have one space remaining for class starting this Friday pm the page to book
Puppy Class & Play time !
Why do we include puppy socialisation play time?
Puppies need to learn to be dogs. Play is important for learning both social skills (how to behave with other dogs) and motor skills (how to move their bodies). Play can help puppies learn how to deal with unexpected things happening such as when they get knocked over. In turn this can help them regulate their stress response when tricky things happen, so that they are more resilient.
The social skills learned in puppy play help them to have good social relationships with other dogs when they are older. This actually applies to their relationship with us, too; when dogs play with their guardian it helps to build a stronger relationship.
One of the most important things puppies learn is bite inhibition. When playing with their littermates, if a puppy bites too hard the other pup will yelp and stop playing for a little while. The puppies will learn to be gentle with the jaws and teeth in order not to stop the play
This is why at the start and end of each session the puppies get time to interacted play and meet one another
Harley was in our April class.
Here he is demonstrating his perfected emergency stop 🛑
Even with lots of doggy’s and humans causing temptation and distractions he nailed it!!!
Amazing work!!
The Big challenge! 🐶
We love doing this in our classes. This class was actually one of our puppy classes (all pups under 5.5months old )
The aim is to heel, sit, stay (turn and walk away) and touch (recall) . All while there are up to 8 other puppies lined up beside you, lots of distractions to help work in building 100% focus
But it also helps owners work on the “no” or “ah” correction sound.
It’s a super full and challenging task . Look at the little dog at the front and at the back!! Amazing “stays”from them and a reminder these were all puppies from 3-5.5months old amazing 👏🏼
We have two slots remaining in our next puppy academy feel free to drop us a pm to get the enrolment details :)?
