📢 Attention Pet Owners! Stay Alert to the Dangers of Antifreeze ❄️🐾
As the colder months roll in, it's time to be extra cautious about antifreeze. While it’s essential for our cars, it can be lethal to our furry friends—especially cats!
🔎 Why is antifreeze so dangerous?
Antifreeze contains *ethylene glycol*, which is highly toxic. Unfortunately, its sweet taste can attract cats, even in small puddles or spills. Just a few teaspoons can cause severe kidney damage or even be fatal.
🚨 Signs of poisoning:
- Vomiting
- Lethargy
- Uncoordinated movement
- Increased thirst or urination
- Seizures
🐱 How to protect your cat:
1️⃣ Always clean up antifreeze spills immediately.
2️⃣ Keep bottles sealed and out of reach.
3️⃣ Use pet-safe alternatives when possible.
4️⃣ Check your car regularly for leaks.
If you suspect your cat has ingested antifreeze, seek veterinary help immediately. Time is critical for treatment.
Help us spread the word and keep our feline friends safe this winter! 🐾💙
