Reptilia has found the need to open up a reptile rescue centre based in West Yorkshire to help out with the ever increasing demand to find reptiles a good loving, forever home. We aim to help educate people before a decision is made on which is the right pet to help them become a pet for life. As well as offering a service to the public we also help out with RSPCA. Due to

the complex needs of reptiles many are being kept in unsuitable conditions which may lead to lack of nutrition and basic needs sometimes due to lack of knowledge or neglect. At Reptilia we offer a reptile workshop which aims to cover the basic requirements which is needed to give reptiles everyday care they require. The recent trend to breed reptiles has also seen a growing number of unnecessarily bred bearded dragons and corn snakes to the point where the breeders are willing to give animals away just to move them on. This gives temptation for new keepers to take on a free pet just because its free. Many unfortunately end up in rescue centres. We offer an advice service by phone, facebook and email, helping with the welfare and care of all reptiles. We are also open 7 days a week for aftercare service. All animals that are ready for rehoming after being assessed and rehabilitated at Reptilia will be advertised in our shop and also on our page. We have reptiles looking for good loving homes. We also take in reptiles that the owners can no longer care for. Any reptiles accepted apart from those which require a DWA license. Donations of unwanted reptile equipment and vivariums are gratefully accepted

Everybody meet Bonnie (1st photo) and Clyde (2nd photo) our leopard geckos. 🦎

These two arrived to us severely underweight, and we have worked hard to bring them back to health.
We’ve soon come to realise they both have large appetites and have the most loving nature🥹

It is with the deepest sadness that due to ill health we are having to offer Reptilia for sale as an excellent & profitable business opportunity.
At the time of the sale Reptilia will occupy and trade from unit 7 Towngate
(the large end unit formerly occupied by Blockbusters)

An overview of the business:
Reptilia is an exotic specialist pet shop with a rescue centre run on upper floor.
We have a large customer base and have been in Ossett for the last 14 years.
Reptilia offers a holiday boarding facility for Reptiles and Birds and is very busy during the peak holiday season.
There are pages with huge audiences for both the shop & Reptilia Exotic Animal Rescue.

Reptilia has massive potential to be grown by the re-introduction of ecommerce sites and potential aquatic and small furry livestock sections.
In the past Reptilia was very popular with handling events, educational visits into schools and birthday parties. There are still the facilities to be able to bring this back.

This will ideally suit a business minded person/s with the drive and desire to take Reptilia forward. Knowledge of licence conditions to run a pet shop and extensive exotic animal experience would be beneficial.
The sale will include all fixtures, fittings, stock, goodwill, livestock along with the existing popular pages for the shop & rescue also website.

The Staff team which consists of 4 x full time staff members and 1 x 14hr weekend worker with contracts. All of the staff that are currently in place are aware of the sale and all are agreeable to remain with the company under the new ownership.

This is Toothless, one of the newest additions to the rescue. Toothless is a 6 month old Bearded Dragon that is brimming with personality. He's always out exploring and a very entertaining eater at meal times. He came from a family so is used to being handled and would be fine going to a home with children.

With the new year we have updated our holiday boarding prices and have an exciting announcement to make! We will now be boarding inverts! From Mantis' to Tarantulas and Snails, you can now have peace of mind that your pets are being well looked after while you enjoy some time in the sun or attend that special event.

We provide absolutely everything your animal needs while they board with us - correct size vivarium/cage, heating and UVB and food following our vet-approved feeding schedule.

We are massively grateful to all of those who have entrusted us with their animals and continue to use our services. If you have any questions, feel free to send us a message or phone into the shop and we'd be more than happy to help!

Have you ever seen a snake drinking?🐍🐍 Here’s our lovely Grimlock enjoying a drink after a Viv clean! Grimlock is a lovely corn snake looking for his forever home! He came to us with a bit of an attitude but after a lot of care and love he’s now a super sweet guy waiting for someone to give him the life he deserves! He can still be a little nervous at times so he requires someone with snake handling experience to help him grow in confidence and thrive in his future! Meet Rio and Bobby, our cheeky little Austral Conures. These two are always up to mischief and love making themselves known. They can be a bit nippy, but with patience and time, they’ll make perfect companions. We'd prefer that they are rehomed separately as they aren't always the best of friends 😅 There's a £60 each adoption fee for these cheeky chappies. Reach out to us today if you're interested in them ☺️
