Reptilia has found the need to open up a reptile rescue centre based in West Yorkshire to help out with the ever increasing demand to find reptiles a good loving, forever home. We aim to help educate people before a decision is made on which is the right pet to help them become a pet for life. As well as offering a service to the public we also help out with RSPCA. Due to

the complex needs of reptiles many are being kept in unsuitable conditions which may lead to lack of nutrition and basic needs sometimes due to lack of knowledge or neglect. At Reptilia we offer a reptile workshop which aims to cover the basic requirements which is needed to give reptiles everyday care they require. The recent trend to breed reptiles has also seen a growing number of unnecessarily bred bearded dragons and corn snakes to the point where the breeders are willing to give animals away just to move them on. This gives temptation for new keepers to take on a free pet just because its free. Many unfortunately end up in rescue centres. We offer an advice service by phone, facebook and email, helping with the welfare and care of all reptiles. We are also open 7 days a week for aftercare service. All animals that are ready for rehoming after being assessed and rehabilitated at Reptilia will be advertised in our shop and also on our page. We have reptiles looking for good loving homes. We also take in reptiles that the owners can no longer care for. Any reptiles accepted apart from those which require a DWA license. Donations of unwanted reptile equipment and vivariums are gratefully accepted

Barbary Doves

We have 15 Barbary doves ready for new homes from the 24th of March. They are all in good health, eating well and are very tame, laid back birds. These will make a great addition to any aviary and can be kept in mixed collections depending on the species they are with as they are not aggressive towards other birds. We also have 5 zebra finches available at the moment that could be cohabited with them. Please contact us for more information. Odin Corn Snake

Odin the corn snake is enjoying his Sunday dinner today. Mice should be a corn snakes staple diet however it is good enrichment to offer other options as a treat such as the rat fluff Odin is eating in the video. However these are strictly a treat due to the high fat content in rats.
