Reptilia has found the need to open up a reptile rescue centre based in West Yorkshire to help out with the ever increasing demand to find reptiles a good loving, forever home. We aim to help educate people before a decision is made on which is the right pet to help them become a pet for life. As well as offering a service to the public we also help out with RSPCA. Due to

the complex needs of reptiles many are being kept in unsuitable conditions which may lead to lack of nutrition and basic needs sometimes due to lack of knowledge or neglect. At Reptilia we offer a reptile workshop which aims to cover the basic requirements which is needed to give reptiles everyday care they require. The recent trend to breed reptiles has also seen a growing number of unnecessarily bred bearded dragons and corn snakes to the point where the breeders are willing to give animals away just to move them on. This gives temptation for new keepers to take on a free pet just because its free. Many unfortunately end up in rescue centres. We offer an advice service by phone, facebook and email, helping with the welfare and care of all reptiles. We are also open 7 days a week for aftercare service. All animals that are ready for rehoming after being assessed and rehabilitated at Reptilia will be advertised in our shop and also on our page. We have reptiles looking for good loving homes. We also take in reptiles that the owners can no longer care for. Any reptiles accepted apart from those which require a DWA license. Donations of unwanted reptile equipment and vivariums are gratefully accepted

Meet Wilfred, our Woma Python that is looking for a new home. Wilf is an absolutely lovely Woma that defies all of your usual expectations of the species! He is constantly out and about and always looks forward to us opening the door during spot cleans so he can come out for a cuddle.

Wilf has been with us for a while now and we would love this handsome softy to find a loving forever family.

Our old shop mascot, Rio, has returned to Reptilia for a sleepover!

Rio finally found his forever home and we couldn't have picked a better place for him. He has full roam of the house, constant attention and scritches on tap. We're so happy to see him again but even happier that he has such a loving family!

Another successful rehoming story! 🦎

Yesterday one of our beloved Crested Geckos, Morty, went home to his new loving family. Morty has been with us for quite some time, serving as a proud dad to many Cresties in his time. However, we felt it was time for Morty to enjoy his retirement and find somewhere he can thrive!

We're thrilled that Morty has found a wonderful home and we remain hopeful that the other rescues here will experience similarly happy endings.

Adoption Birds Update!

We still have a few birds here at Reptilia who are looking for their forever homes.

First up, we have Rio and Bobby, two Austral Conures bursting with personality. These lively boys can be nippy, so they wouldn’t be suited to a home with children. However, they’re gradually learning to trust humans and are starting to come out of their shells. Always full of chatter, they love shredding their freshly changed papers and eagerly greet us when we walk in. Although these two came to us together, we would prefer to rehome them separately as they do not get on with one another.

Then there’s Homer, an Indian Ringneck who has been with us for some time. Homer is a shy and cautious bird, seeking a home with someone patient and knowledgeable on birds to help him build confidence. While he’s still wary during interactions, he has never nipped us and is slowly becoming more comfortable.

If you’re ready to give one of these wonderful birds the loving home they deserve or know someone who can, let us know!

Meet Rodger - affectionately known as Rodg Rodg to all of us here at Reptilia. Rodger is a sweet bearded dragon who loves nothing more than snuggling up and chasing locusts at feeding time.

Rodger has mobility challenges so he is looking for a retirement home where he can thrive. He’ll need more flat surfaces than most beardies and spends much of his day relaxing under his basking bulb. Despite his limitations, Rodger is a charming and affectionate bearded dragon who’s ready to find his forever home.

Due to his health requirements Rodger will require extra care, making him unsuitble for a first time keeper so please consider this when applying to adopt.

Meet Vlad, our beloved Blue-Tongue Skink! Everyone at Reptilia absolutely adores him, and we’re all hoping he finds a wonderful home where he can enjoy his retirement.

Although Vlad has respiratory issues, he doesn’t let that slow him down. He’s always exploring, loves snuggling up for cuddles, and can’t resist his favorite treat — snails.

If you think you can provide Vlad with the perfect retirement home, we’d love to hear from you!

Vlad is not suitable for a first time keeper due to his ongoing respiratory issues. He requires extra care and is in his last few years of life. Please consider this when applying to adopt, strict vetting procedure is in place.

Everybody meet Randal🐍

Randal is a Leucistic Texas Rat Snake that came to us a little while ago underweight and defensive. While he’s been with us we have worked extremely hard to get him back to full health!

He is now at a healthy weight and has become an extremely inquisitive and friendly guy that is ready to find his forever home!
He requires a someone that is experienced in snake behaviour to ensure that they can provide the best care that he needs to thrive!

Meet our sweet Clover. Clover has been with us for some time, and we’re excited for him to find a loving, patient forever home. He arrived from the RSPCA after being found on a bridge, where he was subjected to children throwing rocks at him. We've put a lot of effort into rebuilding Clover's trust, and because of his past, we’re seeking an experienced owner who has the time and patience to help him come out of his shell.
