What a lovely testimonial just received

“From my initial viewing visit until my horse went to sleep Georgie and Simon were welcoming and supportive through the move to their farm and the settling in of my horse, Shemay, to their herd. When I visited Shemay I was always made very welcome and George and Simon were always happy to answer any questions and give me updates on her welfare. They sent me very regular photos and updates which was so comforting. Shemay has had a wonderful life on their farm, running on the fell, living a very happy and natural life and coming in to the barn with her field friends when the weather was particularly bad. Georgie and Simon are very experienced equestrians and I was always very confident they could manage any situation that might arise with competence. Shemay, along with all the horses, are checked twice daily, as often as necessary depending on the weather. Shemay looked so well and happy in herself and, despite being a thoroughbred, never needed any extra feed as the grass and forage was so complete and so natural. I am so grateful to them for giving Shemay such a wonderful retirement and have no hesitation in recommending them”

The two herds of mares here. Those that need weight management are out on the poorer grass on the fell, whilst those who need better quality grass are nearer the farm steading.
We are very lucky to have a choice of grazing and the ability to fence paddocks to suit the horses and ponies we are looking after.

Our species rich meadows with such a variety of grasses, herbs and flowers, brilliant for the bees, butterflies, insects, our ground nesting birds, as well as providing fabulous grazing for the horses and ponies, cattle and sheep.

Happy pony gang on restricted grazing. We are very lucky to have old pasture with rough grazing for those prone to laminitis. The grasses are less rich having never been ploughed and seeded. Perfect for this little herd.
