My name is Penny and I’m the founder of Penny's Paws dog walking and pet care service, covering Weldon, Weldon Park and Priors Hall. I live in Weldon with my partner, our four children and our small menagerie of pets! I’m a huge lover of the great outdoors and animals of all varieties. I’m passionate about nature and animal welfare - walking your beloved fur family gives me the opportunity to comb

ine these two passions. I am an ex-veterinary nurse with seven years’ experience, so rest assured your hounds and pooches are in safe hands! I offer hourly and half hourly walks, as well as a drop-in service where I call into your home, let your dog into your garden and replenish food and water as required. This service is also available for cats and other small pets should you wish for them to stay at home while you're away. Please feel free to contact me to discuss your specific dog walking requirements. I’ll come out and meet you and your dog(s) in the first instance and we can decide the best way forward from there.

What a day!!
Definitely a day for swimming and being close to water on our walks today! It felt a lot hotter at intervals than my weatherometer was telling me!! Time to start being careful when thinking about taking our doggies out in the daytime, but for today, we made it work! A beautiful day all round! 🌞😎💗🐾🐾

..... I am a teensy bit obsessed with my Orchids at the moment, but it's because they are only here for such a short time! I hope you enjoy my pictures collected with team Penny's Paws over the last couple of weeks! The dogs think I have gone crazy as they sit to pose but the camera is not pointed at them! 😄💗🐾🐾

What an odd day of weather, and it certainly doesn't feel like June!! We did however, have a wonderful day of nature today!
So pleased to see so many Bee Orchids in our Woodland Park this year and also spotted quite a few Pyramid Orchids today too! There are also a lot of Pyramid Orchids to be found in the Northern Gullet at Priors Hall too! In fact they are plentiful in parts of the gullet! ☺️
Also, whilst walking around the Woodland Park lake, we stumbled across a busy froglet crossing!! So many teeny, tiny froglets hopping across the path from the lake in the direction of the foliage, brook side! They are still one of my favourite baby creatures! So keep your eyes peeled, especially following a little rain, as they are on the move! 🐸💚💚
Something else I'm enjoying at the moment, is all of the different coloured grasses that have been left to flourish in parts of the park. I particularly like the purply coloured grasses in the old football field area of the park! They hold a beauty all of their own as they dance around in the wind! 💗😊

I know I do this every year.... but...
We found them again!! The beautiful and delicate Bee Orchids are back! And in bigger numbers this year too, which is fantastic! After having a week off walking, and thanks to my daughters young eyes, she spotted the first one, and then as we looked we found many more! I was also quite astounded at how green and how much the foliage and grasses had grown in our park in just 1week! Lots of change in such a short space of time! On a walk over the weekend elsewhere, I spotted a Pyramid Orchid too, so I'll be keeping my eyes peeled in our park for them too! They're all such pretty flowers and I love seeing them as they are only here through May and June generally, so it's always lovely to see them springing up again! ☺️💗💗

I had the pleasure in looking after these 2 beauties again recently! I love returning to my cats and being flattered by their remembering of me! Nala, especially, was very sociable this time around, and she will be very particular with who she chooses to share her affection with! So I was most pleased with this! ☺️ Reggie on the other hand, was his usual smiley self, such a lovely boy! ☺️💗🐈‍⬛️🐈‍⬛️

Thought I'd share a couple of photos of my beautiful puss-cat, Portia, soaking up the rays! She is a full time sun worshipper as the weather warms! Many of you will have almost had to step over her as she sprawls across the pathway without a care in the world, moving for no-one, come man or beast! I apologise if she worries anyone as they approach her playing dead lions on the pathway!!
However, a warning, she is far too trusting in her old age, so cars please look out for her and take care! Thank you 💗🐾🐾🐈‍⬛️

I feel I need to celebrate our beautiful park today! 😍
We have had some wonderful walks so far this week, here at Team Penny's Paws - I've said it before and I'll say it again! We are so very lucky to have this wonderful park on our doorstep, and I get to see it in all its glory every day! I love watching the changes of the season throughout our park, but this has to be my favourite time of year, and I think you might be able to see why.... 😁🌞🤩💗

Gosh! It's been so lovely to be back with all of your fur babies this week! 😁😍 Due to unforseen circumstances I was unable to walk last week, giving little room for very little notice. I do make myself chuckle when I'm out and about! Good job I know some secluded walks when I have these moments!! 😆 Gorgeous Reggie loves to carry sticks... correction.... branches, when out! 😍 I don't condone throwing of sticks for dogs but Reg does enjoy a carry, it's in his breed to retrieve something to feel proud of! 💗🐾🐾

More from my water logged walk with Ed earlier today. It always astonishes me how quickly the water levels can rise, and you can hear the power behind it too! Nature is fierce!

Out with Ed earlier today, this was around 1pm by our brook in the Woodland Park. Crazy what a bit of rain can do!

So pleased I was able to get this boy out for a while today! Home visits don't sit so well with energetic Eddie! We spent most of our time between Lake and brook, brook and lake. This was his second attempt at investigating the lily pads, first time was so funny, he would nearly approach them but then jump back in suprise! This went on for some time - too cute! 😍💗🐾🐾

I think it might be someone's birthday.... Happy Birthday Ragnar, you lovely boy you!! I am sure you are being very spoiled, and quite rightly too! 😍😁🥳🥳🎂💙💙

Look who has been doing so well at doggy junior school then! Citizen canine His relationship with his owner is very tight and his training can really be noticed each time I take him out! I really didn't need to use my 'wait' command as much as I did here, that was more me confirming my request with myself! 🤣 Well done Donnie, I'm very proud of you! Good boy! 💗🐾🐾

Ruby loved her play date with Alfie today, he is just a great big bundle of happy! They had so much fun together. Lots of bursts of play along our walk and we managed to do it all before that freak rain storm - it tipped it down as we drove home in our warm, snug car! Result! 😁🌧☺💗🐾🐾

I love how these two play. Ragnar will spend some considerable time tiptoeing up on Lagertha as if his magnificent presence is invisible while she retreats to the ground in a, 'you can't see me pose!' I love Ragnars casual look away here as if nothing is going on just before he finally pounces!! 🤣🤣 Most annoying but my phone ran out of memory as I was taking this bit of footage or it would have been longer! They are such a joy to watch and so obviously devoted to each other! 😍💗💗🐾🐾
