We have had the most fun and busy pony morning with a equine weigh bridge and . The children learnt about different feeds that old Scooby was happy to sample! Everyone had a go at guessing all the ponies weights. We even compared the weight of four of the children who together all weighed less than Lily

It has been a very busy few weeks with lots of lessons and the last day of riding before the summer holidays at Chandlings. I did manage to have a bit of time to take my horse Warrior out to a fun, clear round.
It has been a very busy few weeks with bringing Custard Cream back into work after being turned away over winter. Also, finally, getting around finishing the arena. One of my little riders yesterday achieved her first rossete and certificate. Yesterday evening, I did a jumping exercise with everyone Blewbury Riding Centre to help improve turns and straightness into fences. All horses and riders did a really good job.

We have a few spaces availiable for our pre school club starting this Thursday morning . Special first time rosettes and certificates for each new skill achieved . There are five in total for extra keen children who would like to come each week . Sessions are for 45 mins and £25 ea.. Please get in touch to book as very limited

We have had two busy pony mornings this week. Today was definitely the better weather. Tuesday the children learnt about rugs and even Custard came in to be part of the team for a rug change . Today the children really enjoyed learning the arena markers and were all soon reciting the All King Edwards Horses rhyme
I'm looking forward to being on board with .pony.parties for this new club.
Today, accompanied a less experienced rider out on a hack to help to give her tips and advice on how to deal with different situations, especially those horse eating hedge trolls 😂
Today was the last day of riding for the children they have all worked super hard this term to achieve their ABRS rosette awards.
Its nice to be back after the long Christmas break. The children were really excited to be back riding again and they all tried really hard despite the cold.
It's all been getting very spooky at .pony.parties with Halloween in full swing.
Looking forward to be back teaching at Chandlings Prep School tomorrow, with lots of new children aswell as some of the old familiar faces.
Custard Cream went to Ewelme Show today. He was amazingly well behaved considering the warm weather and the flies, but sadly, it wasn't our luck with judging today, but it was a great experience for Custard. We will get back out to a show very soon.
First time for Custard Cream to start to move off my leg. He was a real dude and is starting to learn things very quickly now. Breaking and training is one of my favourite things to do.

I was looking after and doing some work with these big guys again last weekend. Their main job is logging, so I've been doing some work with one of them to help improve his confidence with long reining after he frightened himself with his owner whilst pulling some harrows. But he's coming on leaps and bounds again, so hopefully him and his owner can get back out in the woods very soon.
I have had a very busy weekend looking after some very sweet driving cobs that get used for pulling logs. One of the horses, Buddy, had an accident with his owner and managed to frighten himself, so I took things back to basics by long reining him and getting him better with commands. We made lots of progress, and im really looking forward to helping his owner more with his training.
It's been a busy few weeks with lots of Custard Cream training and teaching some freelance clients on their own horses. I even got the chance to meet Andrew the calf on one of the farms I teach on.

What an incredible site to see how beautifully well turned out all of the horses were for His Majersty King Charles III Coronation.
I always enjoy riding other people's horses, but it's nice to have time to ride my own for a change. Even if I had to dismount to clear a tree midway along the bridleway, it was still good to get out.

We didn't want the children to be blown off the pony's today, so we opted for the safer option of the children to groom and do some stable management.

One of best things about teaching is seeing the progression between the horse and rider. With this particular rider I have been working on an exercise to help her become stronger through her core and griping with her knees.
