๐Ÿšจ Rule Recap 2025 #2 ๐Ÿšจ

This year there are two new dressage tests in eventing!*

At the PC90 level, there is a new test for the Area competitions - PC90 Eventing Test 2025 (20m x 40m Arena)

At the PC100 level, there is a new test for at the Championships - PC100 Eventing Championship Test 2025 (20m x 60m Arena)

Calling current and ex members, parents and supporters who would like to volunteer at the Area 12 Eventing Qualifier on Sunday 6th July at Elmwood.

There is a whole host of roles to fill from stewards, to pole pickers, cross country starters , time keepers to those all important fence judges needed for the event to run.

British Eventing (BE) and The Pony Club are delighted to announce a new collaboration to better align their events, minimise scheduling clashes and enhance the value of membership for their communities.

As part of the new partnership, a pilot scheme is being introduced at select events at the 80, 90 and 100 levels. This scheme provides more access to British Eventing members to participate in Pony Club competitions, and vice versa, without requiring membership in the other organisation.

A true pony club legend, 8 years in SOHC spent making memories and achievements everywhere he went! To name a few (there are far too many to name them all): National grassroots team tetrathlon winner, 3 mounted games zone finals, grassroots showjumping, dressage, mounted games, eventing AND tetrathlon nationals champs and too many pony club camps to count! We canโ€™t thank you enough Magic, we know everyone will miss you.

Congratulations to SOHC member Phoebe Woods who has been named as part of the Howden Way Talent Rider Academy cohort for 2025
The Academy supports riders aged 14 โ€“ 28 , with top class training and education as they transition through the age groups and into senior competition. The aim is to nurture and develop the next generation of talent enabling them to reach their full potential.

A weekend of showjumping for SOHC members! Well done to Izzy and Thea representing us at Whaddon Chase PC competition in the 60 and stepping up to the 70 on new ponies as well! Clear rounds with a 6th and a 4th for Izzy and Greg.
And a huge well done to Belle and Biscuit who won the Newcomers at the English Home Pony today!

SOHC was represented by Indi, Tilly and Phoebe at the Area 12 Spring Festival qualifier at Bury Farm today - some lovely tests, fabulous scores and top 10 placings, although sadly no qualifications this time round ๐Ÿคฉ. Tilly and Lottie also competed in the 80 and 70cm Arena Eventing qualifiers respectively, with Tilly double clear but just a bit too quick to qualify, and Lottie riding really determinedly round a spooky course !

A great day was enjoyed by many SOHC members and others from Area 12 at our Test Training Day. Huge thanks to @carolinehawkins2001 and @tiggibentley for coaching members through the different syllabusโ€™ and to @attington_stud_2022 for hosting us. Looking forward to test success this year!

Well done to our members competing at the Spring Festival Qualifier today! Some lovely rounds in the 90 and 100 ๐Ÿ˜€ Well done to Gracie & Zam who placed 3rd and 4th qualifying for the champs at Addington. Charlie and Alfie had a lovely clear round placing 7th in the 90 and the team of Juno, Molly and Charlie came a very respectable 8th in a big class. Followed by Gracie, Ruby and Beli who made up the 100 team, placing 5th and narrowly missing out on qualification!

PCIA dressage results are in . The PCIA is an international virtual dressage & Prix Caprilli competition. 8 team from across the world took part . The UK submitted 4 brilliant tests and the finally scores were all very close but the UK team came 3rd and Charlie &Hugo finished a brilliant 7th individually. Only 1.2% off of 2nd place. PCIA does lots of different levels of dressage tests and the Prix Caprilli and would be great to see some more SOHC members give it a go next year !

First ever Regional Champs for our PC70 dressage team of Lottie, Lily, Felicity and Alice. A very wet and early start for them but they all rode with smiles and took their first experience of champs in their stride, representing SOHC brilliantly! Tilly represented the branch in the eventing and, finished just outside the top 10. Brilliant for her 2nd ever 70 cm ODE. Lily, Lottie, Tilly and Charlie all rode brilliantly in the 70cm SJ. Charlie also competed in the 80 cm eventing finishing 6th in his section. Some excellent riding from these SOHC jockeys over the weekend. Well done all!

We had a wonderful Junior Camp at Parkwood Stud this week!! Visits from Kimblewick Hunt, Hearing Dogs, Hampden Vets and Sally Edwardโ€™s Carriage Driving, Olympic themed dress up and lots of fun ridden sessions! A BIG thank you to our seniors who helped out and a huge well done to all our juniors who took part in camp and made it a brilliant week ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

A brilliant night away for SOHC members at the South Downs Hunt PC champs show at Hickstead this weekend. Brilliant riding from Rafe, Henry, Charlie, Alice T, Indie, Thea, Alice M, Molly and Gracieโ€ฆlots of great clear rounds across the classes 40-90 and the senior team did an excellent job holding on to their winning team title from last year ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿคฉ

Congratulations to Phoebe who was 5th at the GB Pony Final Trial yesterday at Aston on the amazing Noble Superman. Even a little mention of your DC in the commentary!
