📢 EVENT NEWS.
The countdown is on for a great weekend celebrating our town, see below for a snippet of what's going on.

Join Bicester Town Council and Bicester Garrison as they will be celebrating/honoring the Annual Flag Raising Day on Friday 28th June for the Armed Forces.
The ceremony will commence at 2:30pm – 3:15pm and will take place in Garth Park.
Continuing the celebration, a day filled with activities for all the family, military demonstrations, performances from The military brass band, Craigcourts Gun dogs, Bure Park Drumba, Bicester Military, and keeping the euros spirit table football competitions and much much more - Saturday 29th June at Pingle Field, Bicester - 11 am - 4 pm.
** The RAF Lancaster flypast will no longer be taking place due to a tragic accident on May 25th involving the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, as a town we send our condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the pilot involved.

As many of you that have been on our training sessions we have been using two RRT 6 shot launchers with the a variety of dummies but we’ve not tried these!!!
So never mind the expense in the quest to enhance our water workshops we’ve decided to give the RRT duck dummies with wings and weighted heads all supplied by Fullpip Ltd a go as usual excellent service.
Initially I ordered the black and white strobe version so I could see them In the water but Howard Rudkin challenged me to try the the brown clone!
No explanation but wanted an honest feedback so he popped one in the box I’m sure he has the answers already but I look forward to trying them both on our next water session and feed back on them.

Today heaven has another Angel & we lost not only a Client, but a friend, a trooper & fellow Gundog handler. 😞
Few of you may have met Clare on Retriever workshops & experienced her zest for life, despite Cancer making her extremely weak & tired.
Clare was & still is, the bravest person I’ve EVER met.
She still came to lessons, unable to breathe through her whistle to recall or re-direct her dog, she came to workshops laden with an oxygen tank, just so she could do something with Yogi, her exuberant chocolate Labrador.
Having my own Gundog business, I was prepared for the unexpected, but I never expected this. 😔
At the moment I have no words, but I will aim to do something in memory of Clare.

A polite request to all who visit the training facility for 1:2:1 or workshop days near Thame please slow down despite a sign that says thirty the surface is not suitable for 30 . It is also a bridle way and is for access only to the occupants more importantly horse cyclists and children are often enjoying the lovely surroundings and I would like to avoid a tragic accident if you are running late please don’t try to make up time it’s just not worth it. This is not aimed at anyone in particular but a polite reminder to us all please 🙏

Had a great day teaching homeopathy for our 4 legged friends yesterday, and yes of course we digressed and additionally covered aspects of menopause, arthritis, and some human health conditions, because a healthy dog needs an owner to keep up with them

Here at Craigscourt Gundogs we have been using the RRT dummy launchers for some time with a number of them now I like the product but the it’s not all about that.
I had an unfortunate issue whilst doing a 1:2:1 lesson using them and require to one of my setups I was in the field phoning Howard describing what happened 13:00 think the worst with a big weekend and coming up to the bank holiday.
He sent picture of what I thought I needed and by 10:00 am the next day he had rushed the parts to me by courier and we are back up and running!
Massive Thankyou to Howard and this is why it’s not just about a product it’s about the after service when you most need it

A great end to a busy weekend for Courtney & Dollymix Candy of Craigscourt winning The Wiltshire Working Gundog Society Open Spaniel test. Thanks to Craig for helping train her, the judges, organisers, helpers & land owners, it was a fabulous day & the rain held off & the day stayed dry. Our thanks Betteridge Butchers Limited for supplying quality raw food for our dogs.

🌟 We are pleased to announce SUPER SUNDAY for spaniel handlers on the 30th June 2024 🌟

This is your chance to train with not one, not two but three very experienced spaniel handlers.
Taking you through a full day of spaniel training will be Natalie Cannon, Neal Satchwell and Craig Killpack.
Natalie Cannon
Natalie, a B-Panel judge, is one of the leading handlers in the country. Natalie has made up two dogs to field trial Champion and has competed in six British Cocker Spaniel Championships with a highest placing of 2nd along with a number of DoM’s and Guns choice. Natalie has also represented England on three occasions at the prestigious Game Fair Internationals.
Neal Satchwell
Neal, an A Panel judge, has had a very successful trialling career and has gained multiple Field Trial awards & has also made up a FtCh, including has competing in the British Springer Spaniel Championships.
Neale has many years’ experience of training both spaniels and labradors and is currently one of the England selectors for the Spaniel team.
Craig Killpack
Craig has had multiple Field Trial wins with different dogs including his own home-bred springers.
Most recently Craig qualified and ran in the 2023/24 British AV spaniel championship with OFTW Shiveck Sovereign of Craigscourt
Craig has over 20 year’s experience working and competing with spaniels and working with multiple breed of dogs in the shooting field
Craig is currently progressing towards obtaining his B panel judge status

The Training day will be a full day taking place at our Thame, Oxfordshire facility, near J8a M40.

The cost of the whole day is £75 per handler.

Places are non transferable should you withdraw and we will endeavour to fill your spot from our reserve list.
