With the weather predicted to really heat up this week I’ll be looking to get my walks done before 11.

Cooling jackets/mats are available and we’ll be working at a much slower pace.

For those who are at work when I come could you please let me know if ok to use your gardens for some training, where the dogs have plenty of shade/water access.

I will try my best to fit everyone in but I may need to slightly adjust some slots to make sure everyone is well cared for/safe in the heat.

Introducing Stryker 🐕

A 9 week old Malinois x GSD. He’s owned by Thames Valley Police and I’ll be raising and socialising him on their behalf for the next year or so until he’s ready to take on further training.

A 5.30 am pivot bowl session with Hex using his breakfast. This is to help his rear end awareness. Marker charging. Building Motivation. Sit. Spin. Spin the other way. Speak. Recall. Working around other dogs. Introduced the pivot bowl. Co-operative Play. Crate Training. Toilet Training.

Practicing focus on me early on around other dogs. I’m using his breakfast and just asking small stuff from him while the other dogs are in a down. Eventually I’ll ask more of him by having the dogs move around. Also I’m asking him to join in with the down position towards the end, just for a few seconds by placing the food on the grass. I won’t expect this for a long time but just showing him some pictures 🙂🐾 #patterdale #patterdaleterrier #terriers #puppy #puppytraining #8weeksold #

What I did with my 8 week old puppy today 🐾

I’m only using neutral, well mannered, trusted dogs that I know well to ensure Hex has only positive experiences when socialising him and building confidence around others. He does not need to interact with every dog he see’s 😃

Hex, 8 weeks old and out on his first adventure. Making the most of the very small window to get him as much structured exposure as possible. Obviously I’m careful with where I’ll be doing this, but essentially he’ll be with me wherever I can take him in my arms and on the floor where the risk is less. I want to cram in as much environmental exposure as possible over the coming weeks. Teaching him that other dogs & people are just background noise 🐾
