Checking your dogs ears and getting them used to it!
Ear problems, we see them a lot! So we advise you get your dogs used to the sensation of having their ears lifted, played with and examined at home, it’s all part of training.
We recommend gently building up the process and rewarding with verbal praise and treats until you get to the stage like Reggie he doesn’t mind having his ears checked. Making it fun for them means that they learn to enjoy it!
As you can see we gently take some cotton wool and wipe the ear. This gets them used to the feeling of having them cleaned and examined. Whilst some dogs don’t mind, others may need an extra pair of hands!

It makes the visit to the vets easier for them and if they do need treatment at home, hopefully it will be easier for you.
