I had a little helper this morning 😀 only groomed 1 lovely loyal customer as only so much hair to pick up.

This is why I’ve cancelled appointments today! With the aircon unit on full I just can’t get it cold enough.
Inky is really well behaved some a quick clip, bath with no dryer.

Far too hot to work.

EDIT
I’m not insured to groom dogs over 30 degrees, it’s not safe in the heat as them and me can overheat.
This temperature was at 1145 today, atm it’s reading 38!!!

Cutting feet short this time of year is something I advise so you can easily see any grass seeds which can not only be costly at the vets but painful for your pup too.

I don’t usually work on a Friday but these beautiful lot were booked in on Tuesday but that’s Nellys due date. With advice from a vet I could groom Nelly and Toffee and make them comfortable for birthing but a bath wasn’t advised.
Always fun here as they’re all such pals then come in the van to check on each other 🥰

My aircon unit isn’t man enough 😩 butttttt have no fear morning appointments, I will be working. It seems it gets hotter in the afternoons now. That’s climate control for you 🤷‍♀️

With temperatures soaring this week, don’t panic, I won’t be cancelling any appointments.
I have an amazing air con unit in my van. I wash in Luke warm water and blast/ dry with cold air.

FLEAS

If you dont know your dog has fleas and I find it has, I will carry on, but a £20 extra charge is implemented.
The reason for this is that I have to put a flea bomb in the van and clean before my next appointment which can make me late.

When the phone rings at 7:30 and I’m bathing my boy , then it rings and rings again.
FFS I have a life outside dog grooming. Message “ can you groom my dog tomorrow? He’s a French bulldog that doesn’t like water or his nails cut “.

Infection set in already!! Can’t be stitched so waiting for it to be cut and cleaned out.
I’m absolutely devastated about this. I haven’t been bitten in 15 years.
I could understand if I was grooming the dog but the owner was handing him to me!!

Another hairy day.
Kobe and Asher are gorgeous spoodles and so well behaved but not when I get the camera out.
Milo’s second time aboard and I even done his nails today 🙌.

Dexters skirt came off today as his owner is 96 and just can’t cope with it getting covered. He managed 5 years but the continuous rain has beat him.

Hairy day.
Argo the tiny cocker was fantastic today and I’m sure appreciated the haircut.
Newbie scruffy had a short cut still leaving his head slightly scruffy.
Ahhh Fizz is just like my Dolly and had a cut ready for the warmer weather 🤞🙏.
Newbie little Tom is 16 so you need to be careful of any skin tags, lumps and bumps and I always let the owner know what I’ve found.
Gorgeous girl Emmy is the perfect spaniel to groom but she too is old so an old hat at it.

Frankie is from working stock but didn’t make it so now a family pet. She was amazing to bath and dry but trying to do her paws was a whole different level. If she’s not spinning round she’s led on her back, as soon as i get close with the scissors, she’s off. I got there in the end 🥴
