🌸🐱Meet Ziggy who came in for routine neutering and stole our hearts with his cuteness🐱🌸

This procedure is something we offer for both female and male cats from just 6 months of age. Some benefits of this include : less fighting with brothers and sisters, prevention of pregnancies in females and it has even been proven that your little one can be more affectionate after neutering.

If this is something you are interested in getting booked in then please contact the practice on 01892835456 and one of our team members will be happy to help.

💊 Antibiotics in a Veterinary practice 💊

Occasionally, antibiotics are used to prevent infection, where an infection is considered very likely, or where infection could be catastrophic (such as after surgeries like a hip replacement).

💊 However, bacteria can develop a resistance to antibiotics.

💊 Antibiotic resistance is a growing threat, overuse is making our antibiotics less effective.

💊 As pet owners, we can help protect from antibiotic-resistant infections by giving all medications as prescribed, including finishing the course (even if you think your pet is better) and returning unused or leftover medication to our practice for safe disposal.

💊 Let's use them wisely!!

You can find out more about this here in our blog:

🌻Everyone meet lovely Bonnie who came in today for her laparoscopic spay.

This kind of procedure is different from your traditional spay in which they use a camera to carefully go in and remove the ovaries via key hole.
Benefits of a lap spay include: faster wound healing, smaller incisions, quicker recovery time, less pain and many more.

If this is something you are interested in getting booked in or would like to know more then please contact the surgery🌻

🐑It’s lambing season🐑

With lambing season upon us, we kindly ask all dog owners to be vigilant and responsible. Sheep worrying can cause severe stress, injury or even loss of lambs and ewes.

✅ Please keep your dogs on a lead near livestock
‼️Even the most well-behaved dogs can become excited or curious, leading to unintended harm
🚨Stay aware of your surroundings and keep dogs under close control.

Let's work together to protect our farmers' livelihoods and ensure a safe lambing season for all.

🐱🐶🐾This lovely boy called Jessie was brought in by a member of the public. He was found in a car bonnet after travelling back from Hastings. It turned out that Jessie had actually been missing from Dartford for two days and somehow made his way to Hastings and then back to Paddock Wood. We managed to get the correct information and reunite him with his owners due to the fact that he had a microchip. This post is to raise awareness for microchipping and ensuring that your details are up to date so that we can help all animals have an outcome like Jessie. Microchipping was made a legal requirement in 2024 for cats, if you would like your pet microchipped and haven’t done so already this is a service we can provide at Putlands 🐱🐶🐾

Everyone meet Bear who was brought in today by Buttercups Sanctuary for Goats 🐐
He was in for some x rays after being lame for a while and was so well behaved! As you can see he got a bit hungry half way through and enjoyed a banana skin as a snack 😊
