Did you know that red ruffed lemurs have the second loudest call of all primates?😮📣
The alarm calls of a red ruffed lemur can be heard up to a half-mile away! These loud vocalisations are used to communicate with other members of the troop for various reasons:
🌴 Allow distant members of the same group to maintain contact with each other even when they are foraging separately
👹 Warn would-be competitors of territory already occupied
⚠️ Alert other group members of the presence of an aerial or ground predator
Double the fun this summer at Paignton Zoo!🌞🐾
