A smaller photo upload today as we have had many furry friends depart so it’s been a busy time! Now to prepare for the big Christmas rush starting tomorrow!🎄🎅🏻☃️
All of our guests are happily settled, enjoying lots of fuss (as have our cheeky goats too but instead of purrs, we get gifted with headbutts! 🐐)😸🐾

Eagle eyed Tom managed to spot this little fella with his leg trapped in netting this morning, up behind the chicken houses 😿
Relieved to say he has been safely untangled and has now flown away unscathed 😻
Of course the next job on our ‘to do’ list is to replace all the netting with chicken wire instead to take away the risk of it happening again.
I wasn’t aware I’d be holding a little birdy today! ❣️Never a dull moment at Fairparks!

3 days have passed since we welcomed our outdoor stable babies and little Bobby has been brave enough to make an appearance! He’s still wary but we have high hopes he will come round soon! Bertie is happier out of sight still currently but that’s absolutely fine too, no pressure off us 😸
We will be giving them both feathers, leaves, bits and bobs we find around here naturally which will help them get used to sniffs and smells of things they will encounter in their new home, as suggested in our advice sheet given by Hector's House Residents 🤩🐾

Yesterday saw a different kind of welcome to Fairparks.
We recently contacted Hector's House Residents as we thought we could provide a lovely new home for two feral cats that are wanting an ‘alternative home’ 😸
Bobby, a gorgeous grey tabby & Bertie a beautiful black, have now been set up in our stables where they will be locked in for the next four weeks whilst they adjust to their new surroundings.
As far as we know, they are not cats that long for human attention but time will tell! They are both very scared at the moment but will be able to do as they please very soon & hopefully have a long, happy life roaming around the fields here.
We hope to show you photos in the near future, but for now, we will be going for the very slow and steady approach with their settling in process ❣️
📸 Meanwhile in the cattery, all guests are purrrfectly settled with many loving our playtimes! 😻🐾

Our guests have had the radio turned up, fuss in abundance & have been blissfully unaware. Storm who?! 😹😻
My hair on the other hand, was definitely a Cat 3 whilst feeding the chickens, geese and goats this morning! 🙀😹🐾

We really do have the most lovely furry guests come to stay at Fairparks 😻
We also have had an equally cute but unfortunately unwanted visitor over the last week, that being Mr Fox 🙀😿 Sadly we are a few chickens down but we are doing all we can to prevent any more visits 🦊

I think it’s newbie November! 😸 We have welcomed so many furbabies having their first ever holiday with us this month and we haven’t had a single one not settle beautifully. Some cats do need a little extra time to suss it all out but it doesn’t take us long to reassure them and have them relaxed and ready to play/ snooze/ accept fuss, whatever they wish to do💞
The Fairparks Feline Family is forever growing and we love each and every one😻 yes even those rascally ones that keep us on our toes! 🙀😹🐾

Just two mumma hens taking their babies for a walk😻🐣

We’ve received the best news! 😻😻😻😻 “*** OMG *** CHICKPEA is Home *** After 10 days and nights she was spotted by the wonderful Neil in our village just less than a mile from our house… He recognised her from the poster. This has been a disheartening, heartbreaking and rollercoaster time - I have to admit that I lost my conviction and belief that we would find her alive many times…. but it was the amazing community around us and beyond via FB that has kept us hopeful and reminded us continually to not give up… The messages of support really did keep us going! You put up with me calling early in the mornings and late at night. I flooded the streets and your letter boxes with posters. Your shares, support and encouragement were all so appreciated! I now know what it is like to spontaneously cry tears of joy - Thank you to each and everyone of you! She is unharmed, slimmer, lost her collar, won’t stop meowing (there’s a lot of adventures to tell me about) and wanting to eat for England (though I’m pacing her)…” ‼️Please do scroll back a little to our post of beautiful Eric who sadly, is still missing. His little white patch on chest and slit on one ear makes him easier to distinguish. Thank you 💙‼️

The little chirping chicks! 🐣❣️ They still haven’t come outside as of yet, the two hens in the video both think that they are the mum so these lucky babies have two mother hens to care for them 😻 🐾

We sometimes get asked why we don’t allow humans inside our cattery and this video partly shows just one of the reasons 😸 Owners often walk along the outside looking to greet our guests then ask if we are empty as no one or very few cats can be seen outside. It can take us a large amount of time, love & patience to gain the trust of our furry guests, especially the naturally nervous and first time stays. Many guests will stay in their inside rooms when customers are coming and going as they don’t like new faces and people they don’t know can be scary but this video is very standard of what we see when we are closed to humans and it’s only us around 😻 So the inside is their safe space and they can choose to venture out to say hello to humans if they so wish, resulting in happy, relaxed babies, settled in each and every room knowing they are safe ❣️
