TEMPORARY 3 WEEK CLOSURE

Hello all, I am going for surgery 13th May, downtime will be 3 weeks, upon return the 1st week I will only be grooming small breed dogs. If you have a large breed dog on a 4 weekly schedule please contact asap to book in the week before I stop.

To make sure all my clients grooms can remain within an appropriate schedule for their breed, I will be open extra hours in the few weeks run up to the temporary closure and again when I return. Please please book in advance, spaces are already limited in mornings/evenings as most clients now book for the year. Grooms due to fall within 13th- 31st May, please consider booking earlier for curly coated breeds who are unlikely able to wait until my return.

During the main closure, Erin will be available on 20th & 27th for any of our short haired breeds looking for a good bath/deshed/nails and I'll be on hand in the shop able to do their minor trimmings still! The same goes for our fluffier friends looking for just bath and nails only.

On Sunday I had the amazing opportunity of attending an in salon styling workshop with the incredibly talented and award winning Lisa and Kenny ! Featuring the best girl Alba with her new cut who was the most patient well behaved girl! Special thanks to her owner for letting me take her on this journey growing out her coat to achieve the above styling! 😍 How pretty is this girl ♥️

Happy New Year from Shine And Pawlish 🎊🥳🐾

Our 2024 diary is open for bookings now. Some changes to our opening hours are below with 3 evenings a week to accommodate 9-5 workers. Unfortunately we will no longer be open weekends as I try to find a better work/life balance with a lot of travelling to family in Ireland and Aberdeen. Please try to remember to rebook your next appointment on your breeds recommend schedule before leaving the salon to secure slot times which are limited like evenings and early mornings 😊!

Happy Pawlidays 🎄🐾 our Christmas photo booth is up and running, please be aware if your pooch is too excited it's not always possible to get a pic but I do try my best!

Couple bath only slots left on 21st December and a small handful of full groom appointments have just become available as we've just decided to add on yet another day and extend some hours to try and meet demand 😁 if you haven't booked yet please get in touch now as these will be gone over the next couple days and we can't squeeze any more hours in after that! 🎅🐾❄️🐩

A few of our autumn cuties 🍂🍁

Most frequently asked question right now "it's getting cold should I grow them out? But what about the wet and mud?"

This really comes down to how much time and work you can put in to your home coat care routine. There is no one right answer, you must do what suits you and your dog's own lifestyle!

If you are happy to towel dry/brush through the coat everytime after a wet and muddy walk to ensure formation of mats doesn't begin, then a fluffy cut shouldn't be a problem (if rinsing off regularly please use a dog conditioner to get some moisture locked back into your dog's skin and coat) .

If your lifestyle isn't going to suit that, that's completely fine, we just need to recognise that and adjust accordingly so your pooch doesn't end up with matting which can be painful. In this case I'd recommend a shorter cut that is easier to maintain daily at home, and popping a wee jacket on them instead!

In either case, investing in a suit like the equafleece as an example, can make your winter coat care much more manageable, simply peel off the mud caked suit at the end of a walk, quick rinse and in the wash 👌

So proud of this boy 💙 we used to sit on the floor and have pep talks before I inevitably had to lift him into the bath, but over time we've desensitised and he walked straight into the bath all by himself this groom 🙌💕 baby steps, super proud 🥲🥰

Hello all, the diary is looking very full in the coming months with scattered availability, I advise booking your next appointment upon collection. This ensures your furbaby stays on the correct grooming schedule and you can be much more selective over days/times to secure your next slot.

2 holiday notes for the rest of 2023 are:
CLOSED 3rd - 14th August
CLOSED 10th - 20th November.
Availability before/after these dates will be very tight so if you are due a groom around this time please book well in advance (esp November with the weather and being so close to Christmas)

Hello all, just addressing some more boring topics 😴🤪!

Cancellation fee:
Regarding cancellations, I kindly request the following notice periods:
- Less than 48 hours' notice: 50% of the groom fee
- Less than 24 hours or no-show: 100% of the groom fee
I apologise for any inconvenience caused, but as is customary in any industry, these fees help cover the time that was reserved for your appointment. No further appointments can be booked until paid. Your understanding is greatly appreciated.

Payment method:
To ensure smoother transactions, I kindly request cash payments at the salon upon collection. Regrettably, I am no longer accepting bank transfers due to challenges in following up on delayed payments. Thank you for your cooperation.

Matting:
While I strive to maintain your furry friend's coat as much as possible, I occasionally encounter matting that requires additional attention and care. There will be a small fee ranging from £5-£20 for grooming matted dogs. This fee helps cover the extra time, product use, and equipment maintenance required. I always aim to avoid shaving whenever possible but please trust me if I recommend a shave down it is because I am prioritising the well-being of your pet over vanity.

I have 4 scattered appointments left before stopping for Easter Break 15th - 24th April! Next weekend availability 29th April. I will have my phone with me over the break so I can get you all sorted with appointments still!

Just want to take a moment aswell to thank all my wonderful customers old and new for making the transition to our new location so smooth, and for all your kind words of praise and encouragement, I couldn't be happier here and I've seen a huge difference in some of your babies just being so much more relaxed in this new quieter environment ❤️ long may it continue! 🌟Big Announcement🌟

I've been a bit absent on social media lately and this is why... Shine And Pawlish got the keys to a new premises today which I have already begun the renovations on kitting it out to be the perfect little salon for your doggies and natural pet store located at:

73 Neilston Road
Paisley
PA2 6NA

I hope to be open for business trading from 1st March at the new location. ***EDIT*** I will be working reduced hours in February at the current premises based out of Levernbank Kennels whilst I transition over, after further consideration and seeing as the bookings for March are all going to the new premises given the choice, I have decided my last working day in Barrhead will now be 27th February! ***EDIT*** From that point onwards all appointments made with Shine And Pawlish will be located at the new premises!

Whilst I am super excited to get this new shop set up for your babies; and I do believe it will be a better set up and environment for them; I am very sad knowing there may be some of you who can't travel to the new shop (although it is quite close for the drivers amongst you, only a 7min drive between salons 😊)! I build such a bond and get so attached to your Furbabies like they're my own when they're in my care and I really don't want to have to say goodbye to anyone! Sadly this is likely to happen and completely understandable if any of you can't continue on with Shine And Pawlish!

As a token of my gratitude to all my wonderful customers for keeping me so busy and soaked in doggy kisses, I will be applying a 10% discount to each of your first grooms in the new shop!

Little client appreciation post 🙌

This little mans first puppy groom with me his owner hadn't been using the best techniques for at home maintenance, purely because she didn't know, and why would you really unless you're a trained professional! After the first session I explained the best tools/products/method to use and boy did she take it on board! Today's groom almost made me emotional seeing his perfect thick lucious coat I got to style into the cutest little floof! What joy this brought me today!! 10/10!

Please know I'm not here to judge, I understand not everyone knows everything and let me help you by giving you the correct knowledge to carry out your at home maintenance between grooms! This is what makes the huge difference between a shave off and an unhappy dog who doesn't like the groomers because everytime it's brushing or cutting matt's and knots. Or a happy pup who looks forward to the extra pampering they get at the groomers who are used to brushing/combing/bathing at home!

If anyone needs advice please never hesitate to pop in or drop me a message! Your babies are my babies when they're in the salon 🥰🐾
