We have been enjoying this tank of Strawberry Leporinus recently!

This fish is not suitable for general community tanks as they can be pretty aggressive, best kept with other species of Leporinus, large tetras, barbs and cichlids. Although aggressive their diet mainly consists of plant matter.

Our empire gudgeons have been getting more colour everyday since we got them in last week!

They species of gudgeon comes from Australia and usually get to around 10cm in size. A micro predator in the wild so best kept with larger peaceful fish such as barbs and rainbowfish.

Check out this very unique looking African Lungfish!

The natural habitat on this species only stays wet for part of the year so this fish has some interesting adaptations to survive all year round, one of them being that it has both gills and a set of lungs (hence the name).

This is a very large growing species that can reach up to 1 meter long but most likely won’t be as large as that in captivity. Best kept in a tank completely by themselves, people have kept them with other large species but Lungfish are very unpredictable and may decide to attack tankmates.

Another thing to note is that they have a lifespan of as long as 20 years so they are a bit commitment for anyone interested!

This little Chinese Cave Gecko has been doing great for us in the time we have had it!

As the name suggests they are found in caves throughout lowland rainforests in China. The species gets relatively large at around 9 inches maximum, and are very hardy when kept in the correct conditions. Coming from lowland rainforests the temperatures do not get very high so anything between 18-26 degrees is safe for them and they will need between 60-80% humidity. Some keepers will provide UVB but it is not considering necessary, we have never personally seen this gecko come out on its own terms until lights are off.

1 of our 3 little Ocellated Skinks availble at the moment. This species does best in a drier climate as they are found across the Mediterranean and Northern Africa. They are a smaller species only reaching around 7-9 inches in size and are best for looking at as a display pet given the size and surprising speed of them.

We have a very rare nano fish in just now that would be a great breeding project!

This is Elassoma Evergladei, a species of Pygmy Sunfish. They do well in densely planted aquariums without heaters and as they are very uncommon should really be kept species only. Most of the time the only eat livefoods but will take to frozen foods occasionally.
