We have some sad news I’m afraid. Our beautiful boy Cludo passed away this week. Many of you will remember him going missing for six days last year. We got him back with your love and so many people helped with the search.

He lived out his days in peace and was so happy. We’re devastated, but have wonderful memories to cherish.

Tiger’s Story

Two months ago, we got to hear about a beautiful black cat called Tiger. His owner had sadly passed away and he was looking for his next home.

Originally a Spanish rescue, he then moved to England. His human mum died a few years later and he turned up one day on the doorstep of a recently widowed gentleman. They looked after each other until again Tiger was left on his own.

And then we heard about him.

So, jules is now officially a mad cat woman as we now own five cats!

More to follow on our blog soon.

Please help!

Mike, a good friend of ours is driving out to Turkey early next week to collect his Forever Hound. The dog is being looked after at the Koycegiz Sanctuary, where our very own street dogs Cappa and Docia were looked after so well before they came to live with us last November.

So Mike has an empty car and was wondering if we could fill this with as many collars, leads, harnesses, dog beds, nail clippers, flea treatment, wormers, dog blankets, toys and treats as we can.

If you can help in any way, we would be so grateful.

Please get in contact with me or Jules and we’ll collect items, unless you can drop them off.

Well what a journey, but finally after meeting them six months ago to the day they are here in their forever home!

Coming home

The dogs and cats are now on home soil!

So approaching the home strait on their 2,500 mile trip. Here are Cappa and Docia being given walkies in the German forests. All the animals are expected to be on the ferry from Calais tonight (Storm Ciaran dependent) and then dropped off individually around the country over the weekend. Cappa and Docia are due to arrive with us around 8am Sunday. So I’ll be updating you all then with part 2 of the blog and some tears and hugs with our new family!

All part of a typical day in the life of HomeFurYou… Today we rescued a wild rabbit which was walking along Skegness high street and bounded into Ladbrokes. We kid you not and have not been drinking! We suspected it was about to put a cheeky bet on the Grand National (“When the fun stops, stop”) but joking apart it looked traumatised. After taking it home we rang some animal experts in the region including the amazing Raven at Wild Things Rescue. She was so helpful. Turns out that wild bunnies live in the park behind the Main Street, so this evening we returned the little guy to the wild. Sorry for rabbiting on!
