Mantrailing Global.
From 1st January, I'm playing catch up already. What a start to the year.
Verity and Jack, proving that being a rescue won't hold you back with Verity as 'Mum' and handler, Jack strutting his stuff and Verity in tune with his trailing.
Pam and Chloe, new to the sport but Chloe was not acting like a newbie, showing her 'Mum' handler she was on the job, watch out Pam, Chloe's primed and ready.
Koppa, handled by both Afton and Nick was not fazed and showing he can work through team changes and environmental challenges.
Becky and Darwin, moving from rural to urban, gateways and detail's of distractions that did not deter that nose.
Neither did it faz Lewis with Jasper, working hedges to open ground, having to solve a back track and still zoning in on his misper.
Happy New Year everyone. xx

Super Sunday
It really was A SUPER SUNDAY!!
Little sensitive Jack with Verity trailing roadside and not caring a hoot, thoughtful and decisive today.
Jo & Bodhi showing he really understands the game and wants to get finding that person, only 2nd time out, keen as Mustard.
Natalie and Bella spaniel style, super quick, all 3 smashing junctions, decisions, environmental factors and so much more. I need to get my act together filming the marvellous Frank and Julie who were such an awesome team on an aged trail with contamination and decoys.
Then my turn with spaniel Smidge, our best run ever after head instructor Kathryn Jones put me right on my handling skills.
Onwards and upwards.

Frank, the Boxer dog, taking scent off the wall where Karen has lent, then finding her as a 'walking misper'. They started by sitting on a bench, then walked towards us, 2 people, 1 is a decoy, Frank has to identify the specific human scent. Brilliant work. Apologies for videoing skills, I had to run to keep up. xx

What you see here is a dog leading it's owner. What you DON'T SEE IS how hard the dogs are working using their olfactory system to locate a specific human scent among all the other smells and distractions in the environment. Taking scent transferred from an article or surface. Leading them to the source via increasingly testing tasks. AMAZING!
