Urgh! Alpha Theory! *cue eye roll* 🙄

This extremely outdated advice is still being given, and it is so incredibly harmful.

Alpha theory holds zero scientific ground!

Not with dogs or wolves.
You don't need to show your dog who's boss or be a pack leader.

Instead, be their friend and guardian. 🐶

If you own an American Bully XL type dog, you can start preparing them for the restrictions by making sure they are trained to happily wear a muzzle.

We’re offering free online sessions to help you do this and will cover:

👉 how to ensure a good fit
👉 how to teach your dog to enjoy wearing their muzzle.

Our expert trainers have muzzle trained thousands of dogs in our care and can answer any other questions you might have about how to prepare for any upcoming changes affecting you and your dog.

These sessions are designed to support owners of American Bully XLs in light of the recent news, but all dog owners are welcome to attend. Our Story

Muddy Muttz Dog Training is owned and run by Sian and Nathan. Based in Dolgran, near Pencader, Carmarthenshire, and offer pet services to the local area and West Wales. All our services are designed with you and your dog in mind. We tailor each service to suit you and encourage the bond between you and your dog.

Sian first ventured into training because of her first dog Bracken, a springer spaniel just 9 months old from a rescue centre. She thought he would just need basic training but it turned out harder than that! He also had separation anxiety. So with the help of a behaviourist, she and Bracken overcame this. They also went to various dog training classes to get him on the right track, have a bit of fun and build a bond. Then they discovered fun dog shows and the obsession really took off! Over the years they attended lots and not to just enter and hope, they started working on stays, fastest recalls, temptations alleys and best trick.

Over the next few years it just got more and more addictive and after having a couple more dogs come into her own life with issues, teaching dogs and owners how to get over their own issues too became the best thing in the world. Even to this day Sian loves to teach her dogs new tricks and do training every day, and learn as much as possible about the world of dog training, behaviour and how to best help owners and their own dogs have a happy life together.

Sian was mentored by another trainer who encouraged her into teaching classes, agility and 1-1 sessions, and she attends regular events to push herself further into the world of dog training and behaviour and learn as much as possible. She is a Fully Qualified Behavioral Trainer with the Academy of Dog Training and Behaviour and is currently working towards her Institute of Modern Dog Trainers Accreditation.
