A first for me at my wedding on Friday, a fire! Not a fire alarm, no nothing so mundane, a proper fire when Chloe set her veil alight while we were signing the schedule! 😱
luckily, I didn’t panic and chuck her glass of water over her (a plus I think you’ll agree!) and more luckily, she and Craig laughed it off and said it would be a good story to tell their children!
Their maid of honour removed the offending article and we carried on with their ceremony which was full of Gothic elements which really suited them and their venue, the fabulous Rowantree.
All’s well that ends well! Congratulations Chloe and Craig, a day to remember in lots of ways! X

While there was just a wee bit of rain in the air (ok it bucketed!) there was sooooo much love too!
Lexi and Seumas met at where they both work, so where else would they hold their wonderful wedding?
Lots of Kenyan and Scottish details plus Seumas’ christening quaich filled with mead (origin of the word honeymoon) made by their best man.
Such a smashing couple and a lovely day made perfect by the fantastic attention to details of their colleagues at and gardening teams.
Great pics from and playing from
Happy days!
Congratulations lovely folk!

Their guests came from literally all over the world to help them celebrate getting married. It was a truly gorgeous and international affair. The rain even stopped for them it was that good!
They love and support one another on their travels which is lucky as he pulled her out of a Venetian canal when she fell in, and she calmed him down when he “faced death herself” when skiing down a mountain. They also took a ten hour detour when climbing Lochnagar without a map, but we’ll not mention that!
Congratulations folks, wishing you many more happy travels together!

Just to prove that you can get married anywhere in Scotland (with permission) and that your ceremony can be all about you, Dani and Stu got married in his garage!
They were keen to put a ring on it and become husband and wife or wife and husband, so they had a small intimate ceremony with a place holder for a bigger fling next year.
Bring it on!
Congratulations lovely folk, it was a pleasure to help you get wed xx

Assembly Roxy is an uber cool space to get married in and Star Wars Day is an awesome day to get wed! Colin and Jamie also did not disappoint!
Their ceremony started with storm troopers and included Star Wars readings and words from Joey Tribiani and Kylie Minogue. Nods to their love of the Simpsons, Greggs, Tenants, of terrible cooking, amazing home decor, moves to the countryside and being dads to their lovely pooch Bailey.
Jaimie and Colin make each other laugh all the time, something they both really love about each other, so their ceremony was full of love and laughter.
It was a blast to be part of! Thank you, Mr. And Mr Balfour Scott, wishing you many episodes of joy! (see what I did there?!)

It's not an easy day for the many people who have suffered a loss. You are not alone. Hold your loved ones tucked safely in your heart and remember them everyday.

We send love to those who are experiencing their first mothers day without mum. Today will be tough with all that love to give with the one person who isn't here to share it with. Why not light a candle, listen to their favourite music and remember them and all that made them special.

Be kind to yourself 💛
We are thinking of you all today

Emma and Ash got married at gorgeous on the 19th of December 2005 and on the same date 18 years later they returned to celebrate this with their lovely daughters.
This time their ceremony was all about them and the family they’ve created.
We had a selections of pictures playing to show the three chapters of their story, the first, including when they met at school, the adventures of teenagers, and times at university.

Chapter 2, was all about getting married, and starting a family, toddlers, and being exhausted!
Chapter 3 all about the dance life! Both girls are keen dancers, and now their mum and dad are too, and they’re all very successful.

It was a wonderful time to stop, reflect and be thankful, exchanging rings again, Handfasting their family and Emma and Ash toasting one another with whiskies from distilleries, which start with the same initial letter as theirs.
All very, very lovely!

Add in Rab’s surprise piping of ‘happy birthday’ to Holly and fab work as always from catching the moments and it was a blast!

Congratulations lovely folk, it really was a pleasure meeting you and helping you celebrate.
Safe travels and happy Christmas X

Weddings, Namings and Funerals

Caroline Pearson. Humanist Society Scotland Registered Celebrant.

It is my privilege to conduct Humanist ceremonies, turning your story into a meaningful occasion that everyone will remember.

Whether you are having a small gathering or a big celebration, whether that’s at home, in a castle, on a beach, a wood or anywhere in between, I will be delighted to conduct a ceremony which reflects you and what’s special to you. Guests, children, dogs and horses are all welcome too!

Personal vows, handfasting (with Gaelic pledges if required), drinking from the quaich, jumping the broom, many guests or just the two of you. Legal and non legal wedding celebrations. All wonderful ways of making your ceremony personal and unique, and my pleasure to help with.
