We are going to be holding a Dog DNA testing day on Saturday the 22nd of March at my farm near Penrith.

The test will be the my dog DNA panel which covers 270 health tests and includes all the tests needed for ISDS registrations .
A Registered vet will provide test kits and be on site to take the tests and complete paperwork.

Places are limited so please get in touch ASAP to book your slot or slots. Pricing is very competitive .

On a serious note dad and I always try to breed well rounded , good natured dogs. Anything that shows aggression would not be considered for any breeding purpose.

🐾One on one lessons for handler and dog. Lessons are an hour long and are tailored to you and your dog.

🐾Any working breed welcome, farm dogs, beginners with a youngster, dogs with a problem that needs fixing !

If you’ve a young dog and unsure how to start it off this is a great option for you.
We can also cater to more advanced handlers and dogs.

Blocks of lessons available at a reduced rate . Hire of sheep for you to practice yourself also available .

Meet Winter Crag Pixie and Winter Crag Penny.
Two litter sisters from Quorie's Chance and Killiebrae Imp. They are both stunning Bi***es and both maturing nicely, ready to start real training now.

I plan on mating them both to Sweep as this genetic cross has proven to be succesful so far. A full sister to these two prodcued a skilled litter when she was mated with Dad's Sweep. I have Winter Crag Nala, Dad has Winter Crag Nancy and Winter Crag Nyx and another good sibling is in Europe.

I will be exited to see how these sisters progress and when the time comes, how they breed!

He is my main work dog and gets everything done efficiently. He is a hard worker with a big enging, brains and stamina. Always tries hard to please . Works big flocks / individual sheep and lambs/ catches lambs/ works in field , fells and Pens. Dabble in the odd trial but lack of time means we don't get to many!

Proven himself in breeding good quality offspring, natural and easy to train. leaves good looking and good natured puppies.

Sweep is a good quality dog with control and style. He has competed at top level in trials with dad and is a consistent type.
He is also a nice work dog, fast and on the ball. He has brains and a very strong work ethic , I am currently using him as my second work dog and aim to run him in trials too.

Both Sweeps parents have competed in Intrrnstionals and been successful with A.Carnegie.

Sweep is leaving talented youngsters, full of natural ability and skill as well as being biddable and willing to learn. Friendly and relaxed lessons given by myself and Killiebrae Sheepdogs .

✨✨One space for our “ Training to Trial”. Training course has become available.
11th of January 2025✨✨

Course is for people who want to start trialling but need a boost and some help with what to do, what to train on and how to start! Very relaxed and friendly training with the aim to help encourage new handlers.

Small trial course judged by myself and. Derek Scrimgeour. then split into groups in the afternoon to practise and train on things that need improvement.

We will also be holding some regular training courses in the next few months so please feel free to register interest and we will get some dates organised.

TWO SPACES available for the traPink Ribbon New Handler and Novice Trial nk Ribbon New HandDerek Scrimgeourrial at the weekend , Derek Scrimgeour and myself are thinking of holding a “Training To Trial” training day.

The training day would be aimed at beginner handlers looking to get into sheepdog trials.
We would start off with a trial course for each student then a de brief and training lessons after lunch time .

To be held on Saturday 11th of January
Approximate time 9am /4pm with a lunch break

The very first litter of Winter Crag babies way back in 2017. Funny to think how much has changed since then. Finn ( no longer with us) was the sire and Tally was the mother ( Now happily retired locally) . I would love another Tally but not found one just yet!

Starting to learn how to shed. I've waited until she is far on in her training to start to teach her a shed, she's unsure how to handle the situation and I probably should have helped her sooner but I'm happy how she follows instruction. She forgets some of her shapes and speeds but we kept everything calm and relaxed so she didn't get worried about what I was asking. So willing to please, I enjoy training her 😁.
