Available at our Doggies & Moggies Stores is the B Calm spray, among many other options! Pop into our stores to see the full range of options we have to help, if your animal suffers with stress or anxiety.

B-Calm uses CBD isolate oil extracted from the flowers, leaves and stems of cannabis plants, helping to calm the neurological pathways within our pets’ brains that may become over-active, causing stress and anxiety. Unlike full-spectrum CBD products, CBD isolate does not contain any THC. THC is the psychoactive constituent found within the cannabis plant. As the product does not contain THC, it is non-intoxicating and does not create a ‘high’ effect.

Yes, B-Calm is completely safe and uses only the highest-quality pharmaceutical grade CBD oil. The product is non-intoxicating, meaning that the product does not create a ‘high’ effect, giving you the confidence that it is not only safe but also effective.

Does your pooch suffer with car sickness? 🤔

We know this is a common problem for puppies and dogs so here are our top tips to help:

- Restart travel training - stop travelling for a short time and start retraining your dog to give them good experiences in the car.
- Don’t feed them a big meal before you start travelling.
- Keep them cool, roll the windows down or put the aircon, ensuring they’re safely restrained.
- Bring a toy from home to comfort them.
- Provide them with a secure and comfortable space for the car.
- If needed use anti-anxiety or anti-sickness products.

Leap for Love: Skydive for World Animal Day and Support RSPCA Cornwall Branch! 🪂🐾

In celebration of World Animal Day on Friday, October 4th, we're looking for daring individuals to take a leap and skydive to raise funds for the RSPCA Cornwall Branch!

By jumping for our charity, you'll be ensuring that we continue to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome hundreds of unwanted, forgotten, neglected and abused animals every year.

Regardless of an animal's age, medical or behavioural needs, we'll do everything we can to find them a loving new home, but we cannot do this without your support.💕✨

It can be hard to tell if a cat is a stray or if they belong to someone nearby. If you’re unsure we recommend asking people in the neighborhood if they recognise the cat, checking for a collar and posting a photo with a brief description on community social media groups. Find our full checklist here: http://spr.ly/FoundAStrayCat 🐾

A day behind, but the message is the same! 😺🐶❤️

International Homeless Animals Day aims to bring awareness to the growing problem of the overpopulation of cats and dogs across the globe.

The campaign started in response to the increasing numbers of cats and dogs living in rescue centres and shelters or left to fend for themselves on the streets.

What can we do to support?

🧡 Adopt animals from shelters instead of buying them from breeders

🧡 Prevent unwanted animals from being born by having your pet spayed or neutered

🧡 Consider donating to a local animal rescue shelter or charity to help the animals in their care

There are many suitable pet cats in shelters and homing centres waiting for someone to welcome them into their home. However, a cat without a traditional home doesn’t always mean an unhappy cat. Some cats are less suited and tolerant than others to living indoors and with humans.

We use the term ‘unowned cats’ to describe the many different lifestyles of cats because not all cats are made the same. All these cats need different types of help based on an understanding of the range of these lifestyles. To help, we created Cat Friendly Solutions for Unowned Cats, take a look here 👉 https://icatcare.org/unowned-cats/

Keep your eyes peeled for more information on our upcoming event, for anyone working in the global unowned cat community. Supported by Battersea

A day behind the celebration, but still relevant, and who doesn't adore a mini panther! 🐈‍⬛❤️

🐈‍⬛ Have you noticed your black cat can look a bit different in the sunlight? ☀️ Some black cats have fur that can turn a lighter rusty shade when exposed to the sun, much the same way you might notice your own hair getting lighter during summer. 🧬 Even with a dominant black colour gene, a recessive gene can lead to a slight tint in your black cat’s fur. You may also notice that a subtle tabby pattern appears too! This is also a dominant pattern in cats so it could poke through if the tabby gene isn’t totally suppressed.

Show some love for these mini house panthers, shadows, voids and tuxedo cats by sharing a photo in the comments! 🖤 📸👇

With wedding season, summer shows and festivals in full swing, have you seen or heard more fireworks than usual? 🎆

The bright flashes and loud bangs might be exciting for us, but can be really scary for dogs.

Ahead of Bonfire Night and the festive season, now is a good time to start to desensitise and counter-condition your dog. Follow our vets' advice to help your pooch understand that fireworks are nothing to be scared of:

Desensitisation:
- Start early: Begin several months before fireworks season.
- Play firework sounds: Use a speaker to play firework sounds at a low volume. Watch for signs of stress such as looking at the speaker, ear twitching, lip licking, running away, yawning repeatedly, or barking. If your dog reacts, stop immediately and try again the next day with a lower volume.
- Increase gradually: If they stay calm, gradually increase the volume over time, always at their pace. Don’t rush this process.
- Once they are completely happy with very loud firework noises and don’t react at all, you can start counter conditioning (training their brain that the noises are a good thing).

Counter-Conditioning:
- Pair sounds with treats: Once your dog is comfortable with the firework sounds, give them a treat each time you switch the noises on. Turn off the sound as soon as they finish eating.

Eventually, your dog will start to associate the noises with a treat and might even start to enjoy the noises or get excited. Always remember to take training slowly, and go at your dogs take them back a step if they seem worried at any point ✅

🛜 Moving house? New number? Remember to update the details linked to your cat’s microchip if anything changes, like your address or contact number.

🐈 Keeping your details up to date gives the best chance for you to be reunited with your cat if they ever get lost. Even indoor cats and cats with collars should be microchipped.

You can usually check and update your details online by visiting the database you are registered with. Your vet can also check the details for you, but they cannot update them.
