Spotlight on a breed - The Dandie Dinmont 😃

The Dandie Dinmont is a breed of terrier from Scotland and Northumberland who are named after a character in the Sir Walter Scott novel ‘Guy Mannering’ and are recorded back as far as the 1600’s.

Yesterday we met a new Dandie pup at the practice called Freddie 🥰 who happily greeted everyone, he’s such a confident little guy!

We also have an adult Dandie Dinmont registered with us called Cressie who is such a sweet and clever girl, we always love a visit from her. And before her, came her father -Terry, he was a real gentleman.

The breed are known for their gentle nature and are great with children though sadly they have been recognised as one of the rarest native dog breeds to the British Isles.

If you have a puppy aged between 8 and 16 weeks who have had their first vaccinations and would like to join our socialisation sessions then give us a call!

Our most recent puppy party finished last night, so much fun was had between these 4 pups - Coco, Toby, Cooper and Bluebell. The tug toys were a real hit!

We sadly have had a deceased cat brought into us this morning by a kind member of the public. Male neutered, black with no markings, no chip or collar. Was found in Truthwall Lane, St Just. Please call the practice on 01736 330331 if you may know who he belongs to 😞

The very beautiful Perseus came to stay with us today for a routine neutering operation. A few hours post op and he is clearly feeling fine! ❤️

⭐️ Puppy Socialisation Classes!⭐️ Come join our puppy classes with Naomi and Tish on Wednesday evenings at 6pm for pups aged 8-16 weeks who have had their 1st vaccinations. Call the practice for more details on 01736 330331. This clever little Jack Russell puppy is Sasha who learnt a new trick in class a few weeks ago ❤️

Beautiful 8 week old Cocker Spaniel puppies that came in last week for their 1st vaccinations ❤️

Hindi and Sulli’s story. Found at approximately 1 day old with their 3 other litter mates, Hindi and Sulli had a bumpy start to life. With no sign of the mother returning, their rescuers took them in to hand rear them. The 5 kittens needed feeding every 2 hours, 24 hours a day. Sadly 3 kittens didn’t make it despite their rescuers tireless efforts. They are now 6 weeks old, each week Hindi and Sulli came in to be weighed and have reached the weights of 420g and 440g respectively. They continue to grow and thrive and we are always delighted to see them! Well done to the continued hard work of their rescuers ❤️
