🩻Mobile radiography: information for owners
🩻We understand that Diagnostic Imaging is often essential to provide us with the answers we need to deliver a correct diagnosis. Whilst we offer mobile state of the art radiography, we need to ensure that we keep our customers, as safe as possible.
🩻Radiography can be harmful if HSE rules are not adhered to. Therefore, we must always follow guidelines and regulations set out by the Health & Safety Executive. These points will hopefully help you to understand these.

🌟TOP TIP TUESDAY 🌟
When putting hay in the field, ensure there are more piles of hay
than there are horses, and keep them far enough apart to help
prevent kick injuries and reduce bullying. This also encourages
your horse to move around and reduces poaching and the risk of
conditions such as mud fever.

Care of a new born foal.
Care of the new-born foal
The equine species has adapted to move as soon as possible
after birth and to exhibit few outward signs of disease to cope
with life surrounded by potential predators. This makes close
monitoring of foals essential for the first 24 hours of life and
early veterinary intervention important if there is any concern.
Here is a video with some points to remember with a new-born
foal.
What does dishing mean?
In an ideal world, all horses’ legs and feet would be straight. Sadly, this is not the case and many horses have gait abnormalities.
Dishing is a common abnormality of limb flight (how the leg moves through the air) and is described as a winging-out movement of the front feet (abnormal circular motion). This is more often seen in horses who have a standing toed-in conformation.
