All of our team are animal lovers, many with extensive menageries of animals they look after. You can be sure that we'll provide the same level of care for your animal, as we would want for our own. We moved to new purpose build premises in 2001, to provide the very best veterinary service; with a central location, easy access, plenty of parking, reception space, treatment rooms and a dedicated eq

uine centre. Our vet centre offers a comfortable waiting area (with a dedicated small animals waiting area), an on-site dispensary and laboratory (which means that we can provide a faster diagnosis). We also have an isolation ward, and diagnostic and surgical suite, to offer your animals the very best care available.

We have had a black female cat handed in to us in the early hours of this morning. Sadly, the cat has passed away prior to arrival. She is not micro chipped and was found in Auchterarder.

Remember, not all pets enjoy dressing up - and that's okay.

Costumes can be fun and adorable, but it's important to keep your pets safe. Here are some dos and don’ts:

DO:
✅ Ensure the costume fits well, allowing your pet to move freely
✅ Pick costumes made from soft, breathable materials
✅ Avoid small, dangling parts
✅ Make sure the costume doesn't obstruct vision or hearing
✅ Let your pet try it on before Halloween
✅ Always keep an eye on your pet in costume

DON’T:
❌ Don't use anything that covers your pet's face
❌ Avoid tight costumes or those that can get tangled
❌ Be aware of materials that might cause irritation
❌ Don't leave the costume on for long, especially if your pet is uncomfortable

Remember, your pet's safety and comfort come first! If they show signs of distress, opt for a festive bandana or collar instead.

Fireworks + Pets = Cosy Time! 🎇🐶

Bonfire Night can be fun for us, but it can be really stressful for our furry friends! Here are some top tips to help keep your pets calm and safe during the fireworks:

🐾 Create a Safe Space: Set up a cosy, quiet room with their favourite toys and blankets.
🎶 Noise Distraction: Play calming music or turn on the TV to help drown out the loud bangs outside.
🐕 Walk Earlier: Take your dog for a walk before dark, before the fireworks start.
🔒 Keep Them Indoors: Make sure windows, doors, and pet flaps are closed so your pet can't escape if they get spooked.
🐱 Don’t Forget the Small Pets: Move rabbits, guinea pigs, and other small pets indoors or cover their enclosures to muffle the noise.

Keep your furry friends safe this spooky season! Beware of these Halloween treats that are poisonous to dogs: chocolate, sweets, caramel apples, macadamia nuts, chocolate raisins, and sweet wrappers🚫🍬

Even small amounts can be dangerous, so make sure to keep these treats out of reach. If your dog has eaten any of these, take your pet straight to the vet. Opt for pet-friendly snacks instead and ensure your pup has a howling good time!

Help Your Pets Stay Calm This Halloween! 🐾🎃

Halloween can be a noisy night with trick-or-treaters knocking and ringing at your door, causing anxiety for our furry friends. Here are some tips to keep your pets calm and happy:

🎃Create a safe space with their favourite toys and bedding
🎃 Play calming music to drown out the spooky sounds

**HYDROTHERAPY** We are excited to announce that our hydrotherapy unit is up and running with a few changes in place. All hydrotherapy patients will now receive a full land-based assessment with Kim Gunstone ACPAT Chartered Physiotherapist prior to their first pool session. Kim will assess the current problems, exercise tolerance, assign a pain score and assess suitability for hydro. She will then make a plan for land-based exercises to do at home and for the hydrotherapy sessions along with our hydrotherapist Lisa. If you think your dog could benefit from hydrotherapy please speak to your usual vet, and then call our reception team on 01738 621415

After qualifying in May, our nurse Chloe has finally received her ‘greens’ uniform. We had to show her off in her lovely uniform 💚
