If anyone is interested in trying this or finding out a bit more about it, then please come and see Cheryl at our Hunter Trial on Sunday 22nd, where she will be offering sessions for your horses at £30 for a 25 min session.

What is it?
When horses are in motion, there is gravity that pulls them down to the earth, and rebounding ground reaction force. Whole Body Vibration (with proper mechanics), delivers vertical impulses from the bottom up. When standing on an EquiVibe plate, a horse’s entire body vibrates due to the frequency of the platform, which causes muscles to contract and stretch in order to sustain balance. These natural reflexes are involuntary (much like the human knee jerk reaction), and happen very rapidly.

Therefore, while “vibing” between gravityand the platform, horses gain benefit from the resulting stimulation to their bones, muscles, nerves, circulatory systems, and soft tissues, making it a very powerful form of conditioning and equine sports therapy.
When a horse is exercised, they use approximately 40% of their muscles, whereas with an EquiVibe plate they are using well over 90%, some they may have never usedbefore. During normal training and conditioning, a horse’s muscles contract one or two times per second, as compared to 10 to 60 times per second with whole body equine vibration therapy.
I like to think of it as a gentle way to stimulate andcondition muscles, bone, ligaments and tendons withoutthe damaging wear & tear that comes along with actual riding. It’s not a replacement for exercise, but it’s a way to help our horses recover from training and performingto stay in the best shape possible (for as long as possible)!

Thank you once again to all our amazing volunteers for dedicating their Sunday to making these events happen—we really couldn’t do it without you. A big thank you also goes to everyone who supported us at today’s ODE, even with this morning’s very foggy start. Thankfully, no one got lost, and the fog lifted before we were too far into the cross-country.

The results from today are now on Equo events. Here are the results for the North and South Cup:

North Cup: won by East Aberdeenshire PC, with counting scores from Lottie, Evie and Isla.
South Cup: won by Glenrothes PC, with counting scores from Robyn, Elizabeth, Marcelina and Ellie.

If you would like your dressage sheets or rosettes sent to you, please send us a private message here.

The photographer for today was Sinclair Photography

A fully flagged competition course will be available for hire until Sunday, 15th September, before it’s closed in preparation for our final event of the year: the Hunter Trial on Sunday, 22nd September.
