Wet Nose Dog Walking Co.

Wet Nose Dog Walking Co. My name is Helen and I have been a dog owner as far back as I can remember and have always had a passion for dogs. At Wet Nose Dog Walking Co.
(14)

I worked in kennels in my early years, interacting with many breeds of dog and enjoying long walks in the woods. Most recently I worked in the office environment, but always had a desire to return to my first passion and work once again with dogs. I live to the north of Perth in the semi-rural setting of Redgorton, with my husband & two daughters. In addition to our dog, Cooper, we have a hen, a c

at and a rabbit. My pet services cover Perth City and the surrounding area. I am fully insured, police checked and a member of the National Association of Registered Petsitters (NarpsUK). Copies of the above can be viewed at our first consultation. I am also due to complete my canine first aid course in September. I primarily offer a reliable and caring dog walking service. In addition I offer further services including doggie drop-in, dog chauffeur, doggie day care and dog holidays. I can also provide a tailored service for other family pets. I provide a flexible service that caters for the individual needs of both the dog and owner, ensuring your dog receives the special attention he deserves. I appreciate that you are entrusting me with two of your most treasured assets – your dog and your home.

***URGENT, DOG OWNERS***

I’ve been made aware this morning that sadly a dog has passed away in the Almondbank/Pitcairngreen area of Perth after contracting parvovirus 😔 also another doggy has contracted it and is also very poorly. Both dogs are under a year old.

The following is from the PDSA about parvovirus:

‘Parvovirus is a nasty virus that attacks the intestines causing severe vomiting, diarrhoea and dehydration in dogs. It’s very contagious and spreads in poo particles. Unvaccinated puppies, less than 6 months old, are particularly prone to parvovirus infections and often get the most severe signs.

Symptoms of Parvovirus:
Diarrhoea (foul smelling, watery and bloody)VomitingReduced appetiteExtreme low energy (lethargy)A fever (your dog may feel hot or cold to touch)

Contact your vet for an emergency appointment if your dog develops parvovirus symptoms. Wait outside the clinic with your dog until you are called to prevent spreading parvovirus to dogs in the waiting room.

If your dog has had contact with an infected dog, monitor them closely for symptoms and call your vet for advice if you are concerned.’

Any concerns please do speak to your own vet further 🐾

If any of my clients notice their dogs have any symptoms please contact me so I can get details and plan accordingly. We...

If any of my clients notice their dogs have any symptoms please contact me so I can get details and plan accordingly. We managed to dodge the last round! Many thanks. X

We have had an increase in enquiries regarding Kennel Cough in dogs recently. If your dog has been in contact with a dog with Kennel cough, or has developed a ‘honking’ cough, then we would recommend keeping your dog isolated until the cough has cleared (usually around 2 weeks). It is important not only to keep your dog away from other dogs, but also places where other dogs go, as it can spread quickly. Most cases of Kennel Cough do ease at home and dogs can recover without needing any medications. If your dog becomes unwell, i.e. becoming lethargic and not wanting to eat or drink, or if the cough does not clear after 2 weeks, then we would recommend booking an appointment with your vet.
If you have any questions, or would like to discuss this with a vet, please phone reception on 01738 621415.
