If any of my clients notice their dogs have any symptoms please contact me so I can get details and plan accordingly. We managed to dodge the last round! Many thanks. X
We have had an increase in enquiries regarding Kennel Cough in dogs recently. If your dog has been in contact with a dog with Kennel cough, or has developed a ‘honking’ cough, then we would recommend keeping your dog isolated until the cough has cleared (usually around 2 weeks). It is important not only to keep your dog away from other dogs, but also places where other dogs go, as it can spread quickly. Most cases of Kennel Cough do ease at home and dogs can recover without needing any medications. If your dog becomes unwell, i.e. becoming lethargic and not wanting to eat or drink, or if the cough does not clear after 2 weeks, then we would recommend booking an appointment with your vet.
If you have any questions, or would like to discuss this with a vet, please phone reception on 01738 621415.
