A little look at what the behind the scenes can look like...
We sometimes see some worried little faces coming in for their neuter procedures but Sky made full use of the belly rubs on offer and made herself right at home…
We had some hungry mouths to feed yesterday!
Luna was visiting us for her Keyhole Spay procedure and Belle was here with us for some X-rays! All our patients are offered a small meal post surgery where appropriate and it’s lovely to see them both enjoying their food!
Ollie having his teeth cleaned
We promote brushing your pets' teeth as the best way to care for their oral health. Daily brushing can help prevent the build-up of plaque and tartar which can lead to gingivitis and dental disease.
This link is really helpful for information on cleaning your dog's teeth, and the same applies for cats too:

A big thank you to Ollie and his Mum for sharing this video with us.
Registered Vet Nurse Charlotte joined the team last month and here she is cuddling the very adorable Willow, who is feeling much, much better since this video was captured last week.
Celebrating #VNAM2023
Did you know that May is Veterinary Nurse Awareness Month?
RVN Emily will be a familiar face by now, and she's done another brilliant job with a video to celebrate our amazing nursing team.
One video simply couldn't capture all that our professional nursing team do! From vaccinations and weight clinics, to assisting in surgeries, performing x-rays, sterilising and organising surgical kits, placing IV catheters, checking the safety of our equipment, stock control, and the less spoken about and more emotive side of the role, supporting in end-of-life care.
We thank our Registered Veterinary Nurses, Sam, Jenni, Emily, Emma & Charlotte, Student Nurse Georgie, and our nursing support staff, Kim & Tilly for all that they do in providing outstanding patient care.

🦷🐶🦷 At Werrington Vets we provide a Comprehensive Oral Health Assessment and Treatment (COHAT) when your pet needs to come in for any dental work.
This involves; a full dental chart and visual inspection, periodontal probing and most importantly full mouth x-rays.
Only by looking below the gum-line can we identify and treat all signs of dental disease.
Dental x-rays are taken very similarly to those in human dentistry by using a small x-ray machine and x-ray plates inserted into the mouth.
In some cases your pet’s teeth could appear normal to the human eye, however a dental x-ray could show up many things below the gum-line such as; resorptive lesions, bone loss, dental abscess’ and missing or unerupted teeth.
Here is a time-lapse of vet Stamos and nurse Emily performing dental x-rays on lovely Coco.
Luckily no major problems were found and Coco only needed a clean up. 🦷🐶🦷
Let Ashleigh know if your dog can do any cool tricks and she'll video them too!

Your tour of Werrington Vets
This is Hannah, she visits regularly for weight clinics and her pawrents have done well in supporting her, but recently we've seen a stall in her losses.
Now, we know why!
This cheeky lady has found a way to get the goodies....at this little hedgehog food station.
Can anyone guess why the vet has put this green/yellow liquid in Logan's eye?
Do you know what it is called or what it does?
