One of our other training areas, plenty of rabbits to cause distractions and leave scent, and test the dogs steadiness
This is how Sunday should be, chilling up our woods with the dogs 👍👍
Less than a month ago, this dog was running off, and the owner couldn’t let it off a lead, with nothing other than praise and attention at the right times, he’s now starting to learn how to hunt, and work with me rather than on his own.
And then there was three, all fully vaccinated.
Kathy went out shopping, said she was going to get something for the dogs, and came back with this.
Our new training ground!!!
One man (Jon) and his dogs, do you think they love him 😂❤️❤️
So this is the young Cocker that’s in for training that we did a video of a few weeks ago, she’s coming on quite well.
A couple of things to note that need working on, she decided to start hunting before being cast off, and her marking of the dummy wasn’t great, both need working on.
There’s no rose tinted glasses on here, the biggest critic of my training and results is myself, if you can’t be honest with yourself, then how can you expect people to take your advice when offered.
Hopefully another video in a couple of weeks
So many recall issues are caused by handlers being frightened to let their pup off a lead at a young age.
If you’ve interacted with your pup and it’s your friend why would it not want to be with you, and run off.
All training starts from making sure the foundations are right.
Nice to get out later in the evening, when it’s a bit cooler and even better to find some game on the ground. A few flushes on rabbits tonight, and then lucky enough to catch this pheasant on video.
This is a young dog in for training, she has been here a week and now settled in, so we can now start training.
She was completely untouched when she came in, had never heard a whistle, etc.
If time allows we will try and post videos every 2 weeks for you to follow how she gets on, we’ll show you the good, bad and the ugly, just to show that dogs aren’t robots and occasionally go wrong.
