We're thrilled to announce that a new Senior Clinical Veterinary Ophthalmologist joined us at Vet Eye Care earlier this month! Andrea is a core part of our ophthalmology team and her addition to the team allows us to continue to offer same day and next day referral appointments for cases referred to Vet Eye Care.

Andrea graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2013. She began her career as an equine vet but after a few years her spark for ophthalmology ignited. This led to her relocation to the South Coast in 2018 at a prominent ophthalmology referral centre. Over the next seven years, she completed her veterinary ophthalmology residency and advanced surgical training. She recently relocated to Peterborough and joined our team.

Andrea loves all aspects of ophthalmology, particularly complex corneal surgeries, phacoemulsification (cataract surgery), and the surgical management of glaucoma.

Due to our increasing caseload, we are expanding and looking for an additional full time RVN. Meet our eye specialist

Ioannis (Yannis) Tzouganakis
DVM, PGCertSAOphthal, Dip ECVO, MRCVS

Ioannis is a recognised European and RCVS Specialist in Veterinary Ophthalmology. He has always been passionate about veterinary ophthalmology and has pursued multiple qualifications in this field. Prior to founding Vet Eye Care, he was leading the ophthalmology team at one of the largest multidisciplinary referral hospitals in the UK. Having spent nearly a decade working at referral hospitals, he brings a wealth of knowledge to the VEC team. He is passionate about surgery, especially corneal reconstructive techniques and cataract surgery.

Things are coming together and we couldn't be more excited about it! Our reception area is almost ready to welcome our clients on the 2nd October.

In the meantime, we ensured we got the best and most comfortable facilities for our little friends. Our cosy cat and dog ward are already hosting some visitors (mind the paw) to ensure they are comfortable!
