I had baby girl ‘Kenzie’ on Tuesday 12th July at 12:57, weighing 7lb 4oz.
We are now home and doing well.

Look forward to seeing everyone later in the year when back in October.

I have a handful of spaces left over the next few weeks before I take 3 months off for maternity leave (1st July to 30th September)
I will be back on 1st Oct and taking bookings now for when I return and for Xmas.
My next date for cat grooming is Friday 10th June, this is my only and last date for cats before my leave.

Help keep your dogs cool

☀️☀️ With hot weather again this week, we thought that we should share again our post from last year regarding whether it is ok to give ice to your dog......
Will ice cause harm to your dog?
There are lots of scare stories in circulation on social media at the moment advising pet owners not to give ice to dogs, as this will cause their temperature to rise and cause them harm.
This is inaccurate!
Giving your dog's ice cubes to eat, frozen treats (such as stuffed Kong's) or placing ice in your dog's water bowl to cool it will cause them no harm!
The only time that ice or cold water will potentially cause harm to your dog is if it is used in an attempt to cool a pet who is suffering from heatstroke. If you suspect that your pet is overheating or suffering from heat stroke, please contact your vet immediately.
We ask that pet owners take care in this weather by not walking your dog during the day when the temperature is excessive.
Please do not place muzzles on your pet during this weather as it will inhibit a dogs ability to pant.
Care should be taken walking very young or older pets (particularly if they have a condition just as mobility issues, heart or lung disease or are overweight) and particular care should be taken with the short nosed breeds such as bulldogs, pugs, Boston terriers, French bulldogs etc
Eating ice cubes or not going for a walk will not kill your dog, but heat stroke might 😥

Today was one of the 😔SADDEST days of my 13yrs as a vet. A 10week old kitten was diagnosed with end stage renal failure (kidney failure), caused by exposure to Lillies from a bouquet of flowers his owner got. Sadly the little kitten did not make it 😓.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE... Tell all your pet owner friends, families, colleagues etc about Lillies and cats!

Key points:
-ALL parts of the plant are toxic to cats
-To stand a chance of surviving cats must be taken to the vet immediately if you suspect your cat has eaten any part of a lily plant
- Mortality is high if treatment is not initiated within 18hrs of exposure
-Symptoms can start within 2-6hrs of eating the plant. These are vomiting, refusing food, lethargy. Kidney failure can start 24-72hrs later

If you have cats, especially indoor cats, our advice would be to avoid having any Lillies at home.
