1st 3 day Summer Pony School 2024.
We thought you might like to see some of what we cover , here’s a video of one of our work books! We do different ones for all abilities & age groups. It’s also no problem if anyone struggles with their learning/writing, as we are on hand to help. There’s always lots of fun & practical learning a long with lots of riding. With chances to win rosettes, certificates & even medals!

💜Sunrise update ❤️. Today he’s being a good boy walking nicely with Mum Tango, improving his movement with reduced meds! Well done nurse Carrie-ann for looking after our precious little one so well , including all hours through the night too! 💜Xx. Linda has left our Go fund me page open ,as although we don’t expect it there were a few people still wanting to donate for them on payday! Carrie-ann & Linda went to the Vets to bring them home this afternoon. Sunrise isn’t out of the woods yet & still on strong meds ,but at least home to we hope recouperate. Carrie-ann is continuing his nursing, including during the night to check he’s managing to get up & nurse.She will make sure he’s having all his meds & wellness checks too. She has a chart & video footage for me to oversee.Xx
💜Update on our newborn foal 💜
Our beautiful foal whom Carrie-ann & Graham have christened Sunrise (as that’s when he was born), went from happy and carefree as on this clip Sunday to seriously ill Monday. Please can I ask for your good thoughts & prayers for him . We acted immediately with an emergency Vet call & he remains in intensive care at our Vets Oakham Veterinary Hospital Equine ,with his loving mum Tango by his side. ❤️

🐴 Own a Pony/horse for the Day-doing all the pony morning activities and then in the afternoon we teach pony care. Talks,demos and practicals on different topics each time e.g plaiting,trimming,first aid etc and general care of your pony, stable,feed and tack care,with regular quizzes to note progression!
9.30 a.m - 4.00 p.m all for £27,excellent value! (Tuesday's ,Thursday's in holidays) and of course every Saturday!

Give your children the true experience of owning a pony/ horse for 3 days. They come each day and look after one of our ponies/horses as their own and build up a great partnership with them. A step further than pony days with extra tuition & work books. We set goals for each child and they have lots of fun whilst learning pony care and management,quizzes and competitions as well as riding tuition each day. With a chance to win rosettes,certificates and maybe a medal on our Show Day and Gymkhana! 🏅All for £120!💥

Grooming,tacking up, 1 hour riding tuition, untack, brush off or massage pony and a stable management lesson.

Pony Days 9.30a.m - 4.00p.m £27
All the pony morning activities as described above. Then during the afternoon we teach different aspects of pony care each time. Talks,demos & practical lessons on e.g plaiting, colours & markings, bandaging etc. They also have the general care of their pony for the day & his tack. Sometimes the riders have another fun bareback ride or a quiz,depending on the order of the day!
Wednesday 2 hour group lesson:
10.00a.m - 12.00p.m £20.
Grooming,tacking up, 1 hours riding tuition, untack and brush off or massage pony.
Normal weekend lessons:
Saturdays Pony Days & Pony Mornings, times & prices as above.
Sundays 2 hour Lessons:
9.15a.m-11.15 a.m & 11.30a.m-1.30p.m.
These lessons above are suitable for all abilities of school age children.

N.B For any cancellations please give me as much notice as possible and at least 24 hours . Then your place can be offered to someone on our waiting list and I don’t need to charge you for an uncanceled lesson. Remember all our Riding School money supports our Rescue Residents and ongoing rescue work!

Last Friday was a very sad day, as we lost our beloved big boy Maverick 23 years old.
We nursed him a long over his last week when he was not feeling himself. We knew old age was catching up with him, but he rallied and wanted to carry on ...so we did.
He was a really big horse & his back end was causing concern & his kidneys weren’t working properly. It was a take each day & assess to keep him comfortable with pain relief and lots of extra tlc. He still went out and had the sun on his back each day & still had a play with his best friend Pride some days.
Old age finally caught up with him and he went to sleep for his last time tucked up in his stable.
Unfortunately the really big,heavy horses are like the large breed dogs & inevitably some don’t always live as long as the smaller ones.
Mav had a hard life before he came to us, he was a mans event horse and it was obvious he had been ridden very hard from a youngster. Then he belonged to a lady whom he was a bit too much for.
This is when Karl heard about Mav and brought him home to New Range. Karl enjoyed riding and doing a bit of jumping with him.
He always had a real soft spot for Mav so I know he will really miss him.
Carrie-ann gained confidence in her jumping riding Mav & had lots of fun with him. Then when the time came she was an absolutely brilliant nurse to Mav during his last days, which I’m very proud of her for. She will also miss him a lot.
For the last 10 years Mav has been with us, I think with his easier work load and lots of playtime that he thought he had come to Butlins!
He has helped a lot of people to learn to ride and gain confidence & he still enjoyed a bit of jumping with the better riders in his earlier years.
Over this last year he had been semi retired due to arthritis, although some days you wouldn’t have believed it ,rearing up or all fours off the ground playing with Pride or some of the younger horses.
