Antibiotic Amnesty Month begins today. Please return your unused and expired antibiotics to your nearest Veterinary clinic to be disposed of correctly.
Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is an increasing problem worldwide, affecting both human and animal health.
Antibiotics are essential when treating many conditions in animals and people, but bacteria are becoming resistant to many antibiotics that we use in human and veterinary medicine. Antibiotic resistance occurs when bacteria develop defences that protect them from antibiotic medications, making treatment less effective.
Please return unused and out-of-date antibiotic medications prescribed for your pets to your local veterinary practice.
This will allow correct and safe disposal of the antibiotic medications, which will avoid
contamination of the environment and help prevent antimicrobial resistance due to
inappropriate disposal.

🐕 If anyone is having a clear out we would be grateful of any donations of soft blankets and large towels. These will need to be in a decent condition without holes or fraying. 🐕🦺🐾
Lovely Baxter in the courtyard having a good old shake following his ear clean!
What an absolute sweetheart...and just look at those massive ears 😍
"Love is in the air" so while you're spending quality time with the four-legged love of your life please remember some of the lovely gifts you may be recieving can be toxic to our pets.
Below are a few of the common risks at this time of year....
🍫Chocolate- is poisonous to dogs and cats – so keep it well out of their reach.
🍷Alcohol -can cause lots of problems like vomiting and difficulty breathing. Keep your glass in your hand, or somewhere your pet can’t reach it.
💐Flowers- Lilies are toxic to cats and can cause their kidneys to shut down. Other flowers can cause harm too so keep them out of reach from your pets.
Gorgeous Duke was in last week to see Nurses Casey and Nadia for his second vaccine! After being the bravest boy he got a treat which Head Nurse Faye caught him enjoying in the waiting room 🦆💖

Our wonderful vet Anne has a very special birthday today!
Many of you will have met Anne over the years as she started with us as a newly qualified vet in 1987. In 1991 she moved to Southend on sea for a few years, she then came back to us in March 1994 and been here ever since!
We hope you'll all join us in wishing her a very Happy Birthday!
🎁🎂🎉
These little creepy crawlies were found on a pup that was in to see vet Remco last week. Lucy our animal care assistant was very excited when she found them on the microscope!
Can anyone guess what they are?
Update on Stanley (was monty but just didn’t suit him). He’s doing really well, I’ve managed to get him standing today which is a massive achievement and a whopping 1kg growth in 2 days. Just shows what just some love and good food can do.❤️
🐾Thank you for all the offers of forever homes, Stanley is currently under the care of the RSPCA so please contact them to discuss rehoming🐾
