👨‍⚕️👩‍⚕️ Meet the Team 👨‍⚕️👩‍⚕️

Alexious Loukas, Veterinarian

I qualified from the University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest in 2017 following my lifelong dream of becoming a vet and have been working as a veterinary surgeon in the UK since January 2018.
I grew up with animals, and my love for them and the need to help them was the reason I wanted to become a vet!
I am dedicated to the comfort and wellbeing of all my patients, always do my best to help them and their parents, assuring they are always treated with kindness, compassion, and respect!
Although I have a passion for surgery, I find veterinary medicine amazing and enjoy it as a whole!
I am grateful to have achieved my dream of becoming a vet, being able to do what I love and try my best to make a difference!
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and travel.

⭐️⭐️ OCTOBERS STAR OF THE MONTH ⭐️⭐️

Meet Gin! This beautiful little West Highland White Terrier has been seeing our RVN Holly due to some behaviour issues.

From constant vigilance to joyful freedom – Gin and her parents have transformed their lives together. After attending a few socialisation classes, Gin learned she didn’t need to protect her family from every little thing. With Holly’s guidance, she found the confidence to relax and enjoy the world around her. Their hard work paid off, and for the first time, they’ve shared a day at the lido, surrounded by other furry friends and smiles. This journey proves that with patience, love, and the right support, big changes are possible for everyone. We couldn’t be prouder of Gin and her family!

🎃Halloween is nearly here are you prepared 👻

The nights are drawing in, the temperature has dropped and the supermarkets are piled high with pumpkins. Autumn is well and truly upon us, and Halloween is just around the corner.

While it may be a fun time of year for us, your pets might not share the same sense of excitement.

We all love a bit of fun and the Halloween rhyme 🎃🎃Trick or Treat smell my feet give us something good to eat 🎃🎃 but, Halloween treats and decorations can be very dangerous for your pets. Have a read of our advice article to help keep your pets safe and healthy this Halloween.

Arthritis can affect cats at any age, but it usually occurs as they get older. Learn how to spot the signs and adapt your care.

Has your cat slowed down, behaviour changed or not had a health check with the vet for some time? Book in online or by calling the surgery on 01733685514 for peace of mine that your purring companion is happy and healthy.

Arthritis in Dogs

Arthritis can affect dogs at any age, but it usually occurs as they get older. Learn how to spot the signs and adapt your care.

What is arthritis in dogs?

Arthritis is a common problem for many dogs and refers to inflammation of their joints, which causes pain, discomfort and stiffness.

Inside their joints, the surface of the bone is usually covered with a thin layer of smooth cartilage and lubricated with a small amount of fluid, which allows the joint to move freely and without friction.

You can find more information on Arthritis in Dogs on our website, just follow our link: https://www.medivetgroup.com/pet-care/pet-advice/arthritis-in-dogs/

If your pet is getting older, slowed down or even had a change in behaviour then book an appointment online or by calling the surgery on 01733685514 and see one of our vets for advice.

👨‍⚕️👩‍⚕️ Meet the Team 👨‍⚕️👩‍⚕️

Lisa Jackson, Client Care Assistant

My name is Lisa and I work for Medivet in Whittlesey as a Client Care Assistant.
I have been with Medivet in Whittlesey for around 3 and a half months now and absolutely love my job. I previously worked for a veterinary hospital in the north east which brought an array of different animals from penguins to bats to snakes, which was very interesting.

My love of animals comes from when i was very young. Growing up we had 2 dashounds called Suzie and Lady and two cats named Bubble and Squeak. I spent alot of my time with them and loved them all so much.

I live with my husband Alan. I have 3 grown up children who i adore. We have two dogs, we have Riley & my little crazy Poppy.

We have an essential guide to caring for rabbits on our website: https://www.medivetgroup.com/pet-care/pet-advice/rabbit-care-guide/

Our vets are happy to see your Rabbits for their essential care but, if they were to require any kind of specialist treatment, they would be referred to our colleagues who specialise in exotic care.

Also, did you know Rabbits are included in our Medivet Health Care Plan. You can cover their preventative care with our Health Care Plan, ask in surgery for more information.

Keep your rabbit healthy and happy with our essential guide.

Let’s all have a bit of fun with a Throw back Thursday!

Let’s see pictures of your pets from when you first got them to now!

There’s nothing more heart warming than looking back at pictures of the puppy, kitten, rabbit or rescue you took home and seeing how they have flourished under your love and care.

We love to see your care, love and devotion to your pets, so let’s share our fur babies progress with each other.

Here’s Penelope showing her age but, don’t be fooled, she still loves to steal a sock or chase the birds!
